Presumably there's no chance you would do a kickstarter or something for WotC support? Is there a dollar amount that would justify the time not spent on your own game? (Or a monthly version of a kickstarter or whatever).

They aren't being paid for working on LW2, as far we know. And the Long War team doesn't have a Patreon because they feel it would not be appropriate since they were paid in the past.

So if you want support tweet at 2k and ask them to cut some more checks to the Long War team!

FWIW, I think if you continue to work on Long War 2 long past the point they were sending you checks or whatever, it wouldn't be inappropriate to take donations/patreon/whatever.

Can I tweet at Jake Solomon to give the Long War team some money to keep working on their mod with this add-on? Or directly to 2k?

I know they might even do it just because they are awesome but they totally deserve financial backing.

Well Joinrbs house rules might provide a baseline:
Missions need at least 50% infiltration (no 0% supply raids), no radio relays in regions that haven't defeated the network tower, more use of larger squads (5+) for missions when possible, try not to stealth too many missions, more pistol perks!

Maybe a good mechanic for Long War in general would be minimum infiltration amount just to get to 0%, for some mission types. Being able to bypass the 'fatigue' is a big part of what breaks it.

Do we know the fix is they are limiting it to 8 soldiers? That just changes the threshold at which you break the economy and nothing else matters. It will still be the case that once you can do ONE 0% with 8 soldiers, you can keep using the same soldiers since there's no infiltration time and do the...

Stealthing should be an option to complete the mission, but not something you can send one Shinobi on. It should require like a combination of objectives that would impossible solo. Like maybe you have to do a hack to open a door, Kill a VIP, and grab the vial, in a layout where you essentially need...

I actually do think it would be helpful to rename Dark Events to Alien Progress or whatever, to reduce the confusion with vanilla. Over the course of the campaign it's expected the aliens will eventually get every dark event. Pretty different thing.

I haven’t got any experience with sword-spec Shinobis, so I’ll just talk about Stealth specced ones. They fit their role well, they make great scouts on combat missions. I think a very good solution here would be to make autopsies give prototypes (like weapon and armor researches give). I don't think even putting in place all of Johnnylump's suggestions will curb the problem unless other changes are made. You can still win, Joinrbs just did it with 7 soldiers and no concealment. It might be worth noting that beta tester joinrbs is playing L/I with a houserule that he can't use the GTS to pick classes -- only to promote rookies to random classes -- and doing fine. Lots of ways to make bad stats work.
