Don't they make decent officers? The fact that their officer abilities don't compete much with combat abilities seems to be a plus.

Does advent strength only go up once you detect the radio tower / HQ? I had a squad wipe in an early campaign where I had a lot of luck with the liberation chain. Between committing a squad of 8 and actually getting infiltrated the strength level went from 2 to 4. That was a bit much for Lcpl and Cp...

When you are looking at the final liberation - will advent strength only go up in that region? I just had a squad wipe that ended my campaign trying to liberate the first region - Advent strength 5. My squad of 8 was still corporal level so I probably pushed it way too early. I'm probably trying to ...

I don't know how many times in 1.2 I had a soldier left behind because they were three tiles away from evac and the timer was up. It seemed a good amount of my 'rescue' missions were to free former comrades. Firebrand was not really popular around the Avenger. :lol: It's more realistic to be hauling...

Veteran difficulty will ramp up eventually in the campaign. You just get a bit more time to build your team up before the eventual 'Are you effin kidding me?!!!' moment.
