Ok, so you're saying a desktop is cheaper and better for gaming correct? I have a mac which I use quite a bit but I do agree on the gaming issue. What specs are good for a desktop for modding and gaming with LW2 and the like, thanks.

Got a modding question for the community, what is considered a good laptop for LW2 modding? Memory, on board graphics card with memory, and so on. I know the game requirements but wanted to inquire from a few LW2 modders.

Ok, if you use edit in the avenger, not the shortcut screen for the weapon mods in the avenger, and then go to upgrade it should work fine. The ultimate goal is to get a fix but this is a temporary work thru. I read about others having the same problem on another forum on steam and it appears to work.

You know, a good work-around is to use 'edit' instead of upgrade in the avenger. Don't go in the avenger and use weapon upgrade but use edit at the troop lineup to upgrade the weapons, seems to work...for now anyway. I have a mac and have the same issue. I'm on a mac and experiencing the same crash problem when upgrading in the weapons in the armory. Started happening with the 1.3 patch, reinstallation doesn't work.

Ok its working now, there was an issue with a corrupted bin file that I found. Now I can run with my favorite troops, thanks for the response.

To be precise the game freezes and shuts down the character pool doesn't open at all. Tried it with only one mod, LW2, and still cannot open the character pool.

Guys got a question, anyone have a problem getting into the character pool? I can play the game, add mods but cannot get into the character pool to add or create new characters very strange indeed. The game is completely reworked good job! The infiltration is especially nice, squads and so on. Lotta depth to the new game.

They have said repeatedly that they don't want to duplicate functionality that is already available in the mod pool. In general, purely cosmetic mods should not interfere with Long War in any way. Wow, this is X-com on steroids totally reworked! The level of difficulty is excellent really looking forward to that patch now so I can add a few voice mods. I crash and burn whenever I add mods.

I did indeed get past the first mission. It was the file integrity that needed to be checked. But I messed up adding some mods, after getting into the next mission, so I'll refresh the 2 files, flush the ini and check the integrity then hopefully move on. Yes, that is the mod. I'm that guy posting about the kevlar arms would be great if they put that in the game as well, just a thought but thanks for a quick response.

Tried this method a few days ago and got into the game but can't get past the 1st game. And for some reason at drop ship I have a guy "T" posing so there's a glitch someplace. But I can play the 1st game but won't go into the next phase.

Can you add symmetrical versions of all the kevlar arm options, so each arm has the option of NOT having the shields on the shoulders. The option of having them OR not having them on BOTH shoulders. Thanks for asking for fan input.

thanks for the update I have been looking at the post for info myself. Mac user, hopefully a patch will be out very very soon I will try the workaround you posted to see how it works out.
