Re: Chryssalid Queen poison damage
Im pretty sure that DOT damage in the game works the same for all kinds of DOTs (acid, fire, poison) in that the amount of damage the DOT ticks for is dependent on the amount of damage that the attack that applies the DOT did. As far as i know only crits change the DoT. Burrow is OK on the smaller ...

Re: 1.5 Legend Campaign
Let's see, so you got 2 Engineers from missions and presumably you've bought a Scientist by now? When did the 1st Basic Research begin? Sorry, didn't notice your question. Yep, 2 engineers from missions by the end of first supply cycle and a 3rd one i bought (i had decided to buy one Sci and one En...

Re: Rebel job switching
That's a pretty good question. I would expect it comes from a limitation of the engine rather than a balancing design decision so i would guess jobs are actually only checked at discrete intervals and that's the reason of the delay. Ideally it would require a developer (or a very good code digger) t...

Re: Chryssalid Queen poison damage
There are entries in XComLW_AlienPack.ini CHRYSSALID_SOLDIER_SLASH_BONUS_DAMAGE=2 HIVE_QUEEN_SLASH_BONUS_DAMAGE=6 Not sure whether they apply to the slash attack itself, the poison or both but it might explain those 8 points of poison damage. I never had a soldier hit by a queen and not wearing Hazm...

Re: Recognizing facility lead missions
Find a lead is in every mission. Can we have better mission info ? There's 2 different intel related rewards that you can get from some missions. Find a lead is a general reward for any mission that gives you intel (usually you get something between 20-30 Intel, at least on Commander). The missions...

1.5 Legend Campaign
So i finally decided to start a LW2-1.5 legend campaign rather than a WotC legend. This time i decided to keep track of what i'm doing and i'll be posting some sort of log here in case anyone cares to read it. Preliminary notes Game settings : Difficulty : Legend. It will be my first time playing LW...

Re: Recognizing facility lead missions
I would expect some of those things to change when/if LWOotC becomes a reality. It's a situation where modified covert ops could really shine. Instead of gaining Facility Leads from random missions that you might identify or not, i could see it as being a chain of 2 covert op. The first one is requi...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
That's really map/enemy activity dependent. For extremely light, i tend to agree with you (unless you're lagging behind in tech like i was around June). At higher activity (even very light) it's easy to get caught in a prolonged firefight so i like to be able to destroy the relay without fighting, e...

Re: Recognizing facility lead missions
I considered all possible durations, not only the average. Much better of course. I guess i should try to change my spreadsheet to run multiple simulations and consider the average value :geek: My problem is that the way people in this forum talk about Facility Lead detection chance make it seem li...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
I like to have spider suit on shinobis out scouting as the grapple doesn't reveal you and usually allows you to move out of a bad location but yeah, being revealed while scouting is very annoying especially when the rest of the squad is far away. spray of 1,14 tiles, I aimed more than 1 tile away, s...

Re: Shaped Charges.
I always thought Sapper grenadiers should be able to throw those at longer ranges. That would make this perk much more attractive before CE. I didn't really test them in combat but i think currently they would work best for a support grenadier with Rapid Deployment so he has an option to remove cove...

Re: Recognizing facility lead missions
How can you recognize facility missions (or narrow down the choices) See here , i don't want to retype it all. we're talking "4 days to infiltrate is optimistic" Detecting the mission isn't actually as hard as you think. A haven that generates 50 Intel per day (equivalent to 10 basic rebe...

@Snipethis good luck with that fight and be sure to tell us how it ended
Laser weapons against stronger aliens isn't the end of the world, i tested it, but i don't think i went as far as andromedons with my laser.

Re: Make redscreen rounds work
I can see a few cases where they can be used : Pistol wielding Psi trooper. They don't do much against MECs so this gives them an option if there's no important organic to control and they can train their pistol perks fast. The specialist himself if he is lucky enough to get Quick Draw and/or Lightn...

Re: How important is mobility?
I just wonder if you two just prefer it a different way or if there's just no reason to try and make them work as pure stealth Units in legend. The campaign i played was on Commander but i don't think i would do it different on Legend (i really need to start a 1.5 Legend campaign). But i think it d...

Re: LW2 1.5 Officers and Squads
I'm not currently playing a campaign, the following is based on my 1.4 campaign but there haven't been a lot of changes (if any) to officers for 1.5. I play with fixed squads (personal preference and it maximizes the effect of "Esprit de Corps" which i find extremely useful just for the fa...

Re: Concussion Rocket?
I have used it exactly once in my 1.4 campaign. It was an intel raid mission and my shinobi spotted 2 enemy pods nicely clustered together in range of my technical (with javelin rockets). It was fun being able to stun 2 pods with a single action but the smoke was a bit annoying. Still helped me a lo...

Re: How important is mobility?
Well ok if you got a squad of Phantoms you barely Need a dedicated Scout anyway so why bring a shinobi at all? IMO might as well have brought a dedicated damage dealer instead of a shootnobi. A shootnobi is a damage dealer  Those squads didn't have a dedicated scout. In addition they have ...

Re: How important is mobility?
I dare say though shooty shinobis are quite unusual and most times, most People will opt for a stealthy Scout shinobi because recon is what keeps you alive during missions. Depends. I had 3 scoutnobis in my last campaign. 2 were real scouts doing scouting while the 3rd was leading a stealth squad w...

Re: How important is mobility?
The importance of mobility depends more on how you build and use your soldiers than their class. Personally i used several builds of every class in my last campaigns. Assault : Burst damage depending on R&G (mostly left branch). They don't like very low mobility but make up with lowish mobility ...

Re: Flanked Through Cover
OK. Now it may be totally unrelated but there's a pipe on the wall in your screenshot. I wonder if it might be related. I know for sure ladders tend to cause issues with cover : they provide cover even when the wall is destroyed and sometimes will provide cover to a unit adjacent against someone who...

Now I have pre-build heavens and I don't have feeling that I m resistance. Just a cell in - whole Earth is in rebellion . Actually, you are just a cell in the global resistance. Your cell is rising to prominence and slowly taking command but resistance was there long before Bradford took you out of...

Walk Fire is helping, too, but I'm debating between it and Ever Vigilant. Though Overwatch penalties honestly have me wondering how useful that trait even is. A bit off topic but it's your topic so i guess it's fine if i go off topic to answer you. EV is a great ability if you plan to have that sol...

Re: Rapid Response + Vigilance = are you serious?!
I've never got those 2 combined but i think my approach would be similar to how i handled some tough periods in my last campaign due to slow research (caused by a lack of scientists, entirely my fault for trusting the RNG to give me scientists as rewards). Lay low for some time and be extra careful ...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce
Early 2018 would be 1 year from first release of LW2. I could see it released for the anniversary but i hope Pavonis will be able to release it when it's ready rather than having to work with a hard deadline.
