Re: Which rooms to build first

I always go (below Legend) for a workshop in B2. That means my first buy is an Engineer ar the BM who goes excavate A2 then B2. It's slower start for the first 20 days but it yealds a nice amount of cash, plus you rocks the 2nd month with 2 Gremlins. I always felt the need to rush GTS a bit troublin...

Re: Slayed by unrevealed enemies LeL

For above : Serpens snipes have Squadsight. Why do you complain, in the end ? They have snipers, they can act like yours. Their advanced grenadiers can AoE stun you, their Sentinel can do covert fire... If you can do it, they can. With more and more DE piling up, what do you expect ? You can detect ...

Re: The GREMLIN and Concealment

I don't know of that bug, but I remember in vanilla when I tried to hack a Sectopod and than cancelled the hack it would break concealment, as if the sectopod had detected the gremlins.

In LW2 concealment is not broken by just sending the gremlin. I hope it'd stay that way.

Re: Secure Network Tower - only 5 soldiers in Squad?

I find the Network Tower missions currently the most difficult ones, because of those 2 specific factors : map layout is not in your favor limited squad makes your soldier class pick critical Note, I'm not complaining, on the contrary. I find those missions really challenging, and I haven't devised ...

Re: So Jonny Lump....

Actually if Pavonis is working in this sekreet DLC, it's good news because of the awesome player-dev feedback.
Not to say that, after such a long and exhausting war to crush the alien occupation, there is more terror from the deep coming.

Re: Your "whoah that just happened" moments

3 days ago, Veteran, end of September 1st Year. Most of military on missions, only 6 valid soldiers left. Ranked but good gear is missing : only spare laser weaponry, 1 predator, 1 EXO, standard stuff otherwise. Got "Ambush Column Troop" in liberated region with 6 days timer. You know, I k...

Re: Mid-Late game shinobi solo infiltrations

Your plan looks well-refined and should work well for non-fixed Evacs, like Hacks. Yet I prefer to send a Specialist for such hacks as rewards are sometimes really REALLY good (Extensive Intel Cache, +10 permanent Hack...). I used solo Shinobi infiltration in Free the VIP missions in early game (Fix...

Re: Faceless spies! Urgent help required.

Hey people, on Haven Spies, questions : Do they always contribute to their current job negatively (ie. -Intel instead of +Intel) ? Do they in any way play a role in Infiltration timers in their region ? Do they in any way play a role in Retalations/Invasions chances or strength ? Could a XCOM Scient...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?

Still I find Psy Ops useful for secondary skillset, with pistol skills and some officier train they are very useful as Haven liaisons. Now that' a big investment for a haven advisor :? Indeed. At first I was skeptical on powering military advisors, then on a low-population Haven I had a Rendezvous ...

Re: Opinion on Rocketeers

I do sometime yell at rocket scatters yet rockets per se, without scatter, are far too powerful : wide AoE, shredder, cover destroyer, out-of-sight shot with a scout. EXO suit technicals are soooooo powerful with 2 rockets Technicals and Grenadiers alike are priority targets for the AI, at least the...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?

They also don't train while infiltrating, which is a bummer. At least you can still pick them while they train in the Psy Lab. A Soldier in AWC or Officier training is blocked from being picked AND IIRC if you cancel such training time is lost. When You consider carefully sending a soldier on 8-day...

Re: Rockets vs. Grenades

I find them both useful. Technical rockets AoE for breaking concealment or damage-heavy AoE, and damage grenades for shredding or full cover finisher. Actually protectors (support grenadiers) are very useful (too much ?) with Sting + Bluescreen grenades, esp. if they get Flashbanger or Smoker AWC pe...

Re: Faceless spies! Urgent help required.

Send soldiers as advisors. I only switched to engineer advisor after a region was liberated. So, for the early game, only soldiers as advisors (or Liaison in http://ufopaedia.org/index.php/Haven_Management_(LW2) ) Also you can prioritze your regions : liberated regions on full Supply for a few month...

Re: Kubikiri = Almost Repeater, right?

Kubikiri is weird because you have to crit a wounded enemy and have the crit not kill them for it to do anything. Really not a fan of random activation Rube Goldberg machines. It's there for andromedons o.O, blow up their cover then foooom kubikiri. Although there is a bug that kubikiri won't kill ...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?

I find Psi Ops a good choice for Haven advisers. With some AWC and/or Officer training, they provide some versatility in Rendez-vous missions, able to adapt if something wrong happens. Otherwise I spare my Psi Ops for second-picking if noone else fits or if the Op has a specific ability for that spe...

Some thoughts and suggestions

Hello, so far : great time banging my head in my Commander quarter on how to balance between low supplies,, low intel, low staff and rush hours at the infirmary. Really, the game is completely different, much tougher in the starting monthes, with so many decisions to make so early. On the good side,...
