Is there an option to avoid this update being apllied to my installation? For now, I always get automated workshop updates for my mods, but I would like to have my game as it is now. I'm actually starting to wonder about the size of this update, too. Would it be better to post this as Long War 2.1,...

The translation post was also called "batch 1" which implies at least a "batch 2" still to come - probably for those latest changes.

I like the sound of the perk changes but what happens with my current soldiers? I'm certainly not going to be able to shove them all through the AWC for re-training! I don't see a console command for resetting soldiers but maybe it just isn't on the wiki list? Or maybe installing the patch will just...

Also, if we're going to have shots at the bound unit damage the snake or confer some kind of malus, then we need shots at the binding snake to do the same. That seems like a good thing to me. It always seemed weird to me that I could blaze away at the snake with no chance of hitting my soldier. If ...

Can't wait to see what they will put out themselves! (And to see the inevitable Firaxis mod that adds a bunch of features and makes the game 3 times longer. ;)

Panic Results

So far all the soldiers that panicked for me have hunkered down wherever they were. Is that a Long War change or am I just getting lucky? Did Long War 1 also limit the panic reactions?

Yeah, balance is horribly tricky because of the psychology going on. If people believe a power works too well and they use it badly then they assume they are messing up and change their tactics. If people believe a power is weak, though, they won't alter their tactics to try and make it work because...

Actually, that reminds me - why are soldiers' main abilities hidden? Seems like those should definitely be revealed both in LW2 and the Perk Pack. It would have saved me a lot of UFOPedia checks.

I haven't actually done this so a bit of an uninformed opinion here but... When you use squad site to see an objective, is there also a rule in place that says the sniper has to be able to see the soldier providing the squad site? If not then maybe then maybe a rule like that would help with the 'de...

Perhaps instead of 'sedate' you could just include some smelling salts for stunned/disoriented soldiers that knock a turn or two off the effect? Maybe even provide an extra strength version that could be researched.

(I'm not sure what you would use for panic... dirty magazines? ;)
