Perk Rating Rubric #3 (Technical)

I remember those rustic summer days sitting with Papa on the porch, leaves rustling in the wind as he recounted the details of his childhood. As I grew older, he eventually entrusted me with the some of the stories from his time in the war. Of course, I badgered him for these accounts many times, an...

Tentative Perk Rating System #2 (Sharpshooter)

After absolutely massive lack of demand, here comes the second thrilling installment of my attempt at rating the class perks using a custom-made rubric. Background Info included in the first installment: https://www.pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&p=55175#p55175 And I know the P...

Tentative Perk Rating System (Gunner)

Intro/Justification tl;dr: I want to try to propose a somewhat more detailed and objective system of comparing and rating LW2 Perks. So. Because there's no easy and direct way to compare success and viability between runs of XCOM 2 besides hearsay fraught with tons of variables (difficulty level an...

Re: Haven management suggestion.

Each time we slide a bar, it changes the other 2 accordingly. So since you mentioned "instead of", it seems that you envision that this could replace the current system entirely. That in itself sounds like a bit of an annoyance for very little payoff, that means invariably you're going to...

Burnout Smoke Buff is not protecting the Technical

1. LW2 1.5 (Latest) 2. PC/Steam 3. Perfect Information Gotcha Overwatch All Evac All Titanfall Sparks (A cosmetic mod, proven to be pointless since I disabled the SLG mission for its length and refuse to pay for Sparks) 4. I don't think nerfing everything about grenadiers was the right answer. Nerfing both the Advanced Grenade Launcher and the Fire/Flash Grenades is a little insane.

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I just hope these Chosen don't end up tougher than Avatars, since those are supposed to be the Elders themselves, with shiny new bodies and such. I think it's fine if they do. It's not like the Elders are practiced combatants in their human forms, and these are warriors specifically hand-picked by ...

Most General Question

1. While I know it's not far along, aside from being a Grand Strategy (which I haven't played much of), what kind of game is TI expected to be? That is, what is expected to make up most the gameplay? 2. While this is probably a very dumb question, will I like TI? If I liked the Long Wars or a game l...

Re: No Combat Fitness for Assaults?

The most tangible bonus of combat fitness seems to be the two hp, so it's mostly used to just kind of fill out a tank build with some stats, or push a squishy character out of the danger zone. It seems rather uninteresting though, even worse it seems underpowered, does anyone wanna vouch for its use...

It didn't used to. But in the 1.3 bugfixes section there's a line that now says they do. So they were intended to stack and should stack now.

Re: What's your views on ammo use?

Redscreen rounds are indeed a weird thing to like, not even worth the -1 mobility cost in my book, let alone the other opportunity costs. Practically guaranteeing the control of commonly appearing units actually seems to be one of the better rewards you can get with specialty ammo, especially since...

Re: First Impression on 1.3 some starting tips

I like some tips on hiding because I still dont get it. Im pretty new to LW2. In 1.2, I have read in the archives that if you put too many personnel on the job (recruits, intel, supply) you will pull attention to where your base is in the region which will lead Advent attacking them. After 2 or 3 s...

Re: how do you use Concussion Rocket?

It's so baffling as to whether the smoke is supposed to be a buff or nerf to the skill. Do the devs keep it on because to take it off would be too strong, or because it is legitimately a crucial part of the identity of the concussion rocket? I appreciate the aoe buff, but as of now you might as well...

Re: I'm getting rocked on legendary o.o

If it's just one campaign, you should be free to assume bad luck.

Not that it isn't worthwhile to try, but I'd wager it's probably impossible to really find the issue (or it might be many small issues) just from secondhand recounting anyways.

Re: Rebel XP?

Rebels level up over time with a fixed percentage chance based on their current level and after a fixed number of days serving. Higher levels require more time served before a check can be made. Checks can only be made in contacted regions. The check is made at the start of each month. You can't do...

It's a gameplay mechanic meant to incentivize liberation, isn't it. For it to work by de-incentivizing buying a network tower every time you use it, is also somewhat less of an incentive to liberate for network towers. In a way.

Re: Anyone like Kubikiri in AWC?

From my point of view this is now absolutely worst AWC perk available. Only assaults can have reliable crit chance and they almost always need to move before the shot. Can someone suggest good use for it? Basically you have to build around it, but it's only worth it to kill something really durable...

Re: Any way to change muton melee AI?

You cannot melee the muton either. So standing next to him can be viewed as a delay hit. I think this is a big reason to keep this in. At some point your soldier should be skilled enough to be able to work around counterattacks (because apparently SPARKS aren't strong enough), and if this is the me...

I was used to burning lasting one full alien turn, applying one last tick of damage on the second alien turn and fade out on that same turn. Re: Some feedback on Holo-sharpshooters

The principle benefit seems to allow holoing 2 targets a turn and 3 every 4 turns. Do you mean just the RT perk? The main benefit of the HT tree is simply that they have the strongest stealth actions (along with Officers), so you can have a scouter who can still participate in "combat", n...
