Regarding the PsiOp, I think some of the problems with the skills in LW2 might have already been there in Vanilla but just wasn't discovered. No one in Vanilla takes out a PsiOp on a mission when he just has Soulfire and Fuse. You just leave the PsiOp in the tank until he gets Domination/Void Rift/S...

I always feel Kill Zone has weird LOS issues and I don't really like that it takes 2 actions. It was good when it was on the Sharpshooter coz he doesn't move much anyways, but positioning and sight is so much harder when your soldier isn't up on a nest half a screen away. I think I would only make a medic or hack specialist. If I wanted an overwatch soldier, I'd go with a Ranger instead.

Are the Alien Rulers disabled on certain missions in LW2? After doing the AH mission, I've done mini-Retals, full Retals, counter DE hacks, Find a Lead hacks, and Troop Columns but haven't seen them show up yet.

Rousting Stunned Units

Patch 1.1. Win 10. Using Roust on a Stunned viper made her teleport to another square and then crash to desktop. Reloaded and repeated the the same steps. The viper still teleported but no crashes this time.

Whether Tracer or AP is better probably depends on exactly where you are in the game. It's all about break points, right? If you're at the tech point where you can one shot something even with their armor, Tracer is better. If those 2 pips of armor is preventing that one shot, AP is probably better.

The one that makes Rookies cost nothing is weak as well. How many Rookies do you recruit per campaign? 10-20? I will agree that the Concussion Rocket is terible at doing its stated job, but it's fantastic as a general demolition tool, and you get it long before your grenadiers could get the job done. I've had some success with taking them on Tower missions where I needed short bursts of very high damage and the close quarters allowed me to use flamers better. But otherwise, meh...

You either send 2-3 men to sneak to the objective, or you're doing 8-10 men huge firefights. 4-6 men squads are too big to stealth successfully but not enough firepower to kill things quickly. Heavy Ordinance and Protector only doubles the grenade if it's in the grenade-only slot of your grenadier. So you should check whether you have it in the right slot. From your description, it seems you have your frag in the doubling slot instead.

I didn't even realize the Concussion rocket doesn't guarantee disorient until I fired it at someone and dealt that 1 damage and leave the Advent perfectly fine in a smoke cloud.

Glad I'm a cheater and changed the AWC respec time to 0.

Anyone find all the ammo types useful? Some of them seems too situational - non-robot Advent only, biological aliens only, etc. It seems just the regular old AP or Poison ammo is most widely applicable.

I confess I changed the ini to make AWC perk trees visible. There are some soldiers I would never have trained in the AWC if not for it. Biggest Boom on a Shinobi? But Center Mass and Lethal was behind it....

I believe that a pod activates during Player's turn will just do their normal scamper to cover and not fire at you regardless of their alert status. Not sure, but I think the Yellow Alert pods will still have some members either shoot or go overwatch after diving for cover. Honestly, I'm not 100% s...

I just had my third +hp DE go thru without any means of stopping it. With the +armor DE also active, a normal Advent Captain now has 18hp and armor and can tank multiple explosives and shots. I'm only playing on Vet and this is ridiculous.
