Anyone else finding they would rather put the EXO on a non-technical than a technical? The Shredder gun seems so much better than an extra rocket. I believe Rapid Response is not a TDE and expires in a month since it was also in Vanilla. But since a month in LW2 can have you go on at least a dozen missions....well, failing just half-a-dozen missions in a row coz of RR can pretty much means a campaign lost.

I think even temporary DEs are having a stronger effect in LW2 compared to Vanilla. I'm not too far into the game but I'm already going on at least about the same number of missions in a week in LW2 as I did in a month in Vanilla. Even on Veteran, I find a good pod cracker makes my life so much easier. The problem is that both rockets and explosive grenades are loud and attract attention while flamers require good positioning. Stinger grenades are starting to look more and more like a perfect opener.

The only time I rendered anything was in the early game to get the 2-3 alloy or crystal to pay for some research. Locking rendering behind the PG would make that impossible.

I just had a thought. Facility Leads in Vanilla allows you to attack sites in regions you don't control. Maybe a similar system could be placed to deal with DEs. Moving SLG later pretty much also trivializes the mission. Once you get lasers and some AP rounds, the whole thing is a cakewalk.
