Re: An absurd ending...
I usually don't care much what someone "more or less" said because it's usually less rather than more and out of context so i'd like to know where he actually said that  As for Vigilance level, there is a big difference between knowing how it works (be it from an official manual or ...

Re: The Issue with Yellow Alert and Engagements
In Vanilla XCom, scamper existed to avoid aliens from simply being one-shotted out of cover in every engagement. The alternative would have been to have all pods go red as soon as you leave concealment so they would use their full combat AI but i suspect having non-active pods follow a much simpler...

Re: Enemies shooting at Xcom while bound by Vipers
I think that aliens SHOULD fire at a bound enemy, since that is the smart thing to do. About as smart as firing at the stunned target while you still have another six uncontrolled aliens to kill. Admittedly making the AI weight properly the usefulness of controlling XCOM is probably hard It depends...

Re: Is there any reason the game says "Extremely Light" instead of "Extremely Light (6–9)"?
I have started using this mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=749138678. It tells you in-mission what quantity is out there. I'm not the best at remembering things so it gives me a heads-up on what I'm facing. That mod sadly causes crash issues later in the run to the point w...

Covering Fire not triggering?
Playing 1.2. I had a Ranger with CF and RR overwatch a MEC. On the MEC's turn, it micro missile'd me without the overwatch triggering.

Re: Am I the only one that thinks AWC perks should be visible?
Once the perks were revealed, we had a far more interesting time trying to decide whether or not we wanted to invest the time in each character (e.g., whether we wanted to slog them through two useless grenade perks in order to get them to something like Run & Gun at the end, or even if we coul...

Re: Enemies shooting at Xcom while bound by Vipers
Pretty sure the behaviour is intended. Vanilla actually had a restriction on the AI to prevent the enemies from shooting your bound soldier. LW2 had to have removed that restriction deliberately.

Re: I love my loot grenadier!
While you need Andromedons to research Advanced Explosives, you don't need them to build Advance Grenade Launchers. I believe it takes Muton Elite corpses instead. You're thinking of Blaster Gauntlets (which require Muton Elite Autopsy to unlock and Muton Elite corpses to make). Andromedon Autopsy ...

It's just an animation bug where the soldier steps out to take an OW shot and forgets to step back. It's somewhat hilarious to see my ranger crawl all across my screen.

Re: What to do about Overwatch?
But I think the biggest problem here is the perk order. Covering fire is really only useful if you have Ever Vigilant, or a Threat Assessment (genuinely a contender for my favorite perk) Specialist. Both of those are relatively late perks. To be able to flank, and then shoot on anything but a hunke...

Damage Control can do some pretty sick things if you're stacking armor.

I think how easy it is to distinguish depends a fair bit on how big your monitor is. I use a 17" laptop to play, so not the biggest screen.

Re: Your general purpose squads?
My general purpose squads setup consists of 5 soldiers: 1 Shinobi - scouting 1 Specialist - hacking and mission completion 1 Grenadier/Tech - crowd control 2 of Assault/Ranger/Gunner/Snapshooter - shooty guys that can still move and shoot This gives me a versatile base with which I can call up quick...

Re: Shredder Gun vs Shredder Cannon vs Plasma Blaster
I've found the Plasma Blaster's 1 tile width to be the biggest drawback. It's difficult to consistently hit more than 1 enemy. It's the same problem I have with aiming Null Lances.

Re: Shredder Gun vs Shredder Cannon vs Plasma Blaster
I've only ever found the Plasma Blaster to be useful on a SPARK with Rainmaker. With a 3 tile width, it does a fairly good impression of a Shredstorm if you can't roll one up in Vanilla.

Re: Are mags better than lasers
Mag weapons are probably the weapons I buy the least of, but I buy some nevertheless: - Mag Rifle: for the rangers, who get the most out of them because of high aim and best scopes. - Mag Long Rifle: one for the DFA sharpshooter. - Mag Cannon: my Gunners almost always have Hail of Bullets so... I a...

What happens when you liberate a region while a "Destroy datatap to prevent Retaliation" mission is visible? Does the Retaliation still go thru if you don't do the datatap? Or is everything just cancelled?

That's why it's an option, so everyone can play the way they prefer ;) I like it because it makes sense and it makes every hit point count. You're no longer in perfect fighting condition until you're dead. It would make sense if mecs/sparks were excluded thought. Sure. It's good to have options. A ...

Re: Usefulness of Plasma Grenades/Medics
I actually like not using RF since it forces me to decide which enemies to try to kill and which to control. With RF, I would simply prioritize dealing as much damage as I can to everything since damage is also debuff.

Re: [suggestion] Change dessign of the smoke grenade.
I have made the same mistake as well, especially during rendezvous and mini-retal missions where the rebel just have random stuff. Frag is easy to distinguish from the other two but I often have to take a second look at flash/smoke just to make sure I got the right one. Heck, even Xavier made the fl...
