Re: Is this a Bug or a Bad Joke?

After the first reinforcement drop, you might think, "Well that's unexpected, but we can deal with it.". When the reinforcements keep coming on the very next turn after the first drop, you should probably be thinking, "Okay, that's a bit much, maybe we should just leave before it gets...

Re: Overwatch with Heavy Weapon/2nd weapon

You might also try this mod for tactical suppressors: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=844955101 If you are still concealed, it lets you choose a specific target for your overwatch. For example, maybe you *really* want that ADVENT officer to die, so you tell three of your shoote...

Re: Suggestions for Battlescanner Utility

Maybe the "free" starter version of scanner could simply let you see units in an (probably smaller) area, without actually revealing any hidden or disguised aliens, while the deluxe model that comes after some later research could do the revealing. Kinda like tossing a GoPro in a hamster w...

Re: Engineer Advisers

I suppose you might also add to the equation what you'd be getting from completion of the rendezvous mission, i.e., Faceless corpses, various loot items, etc.. If you really want to have a large number of the camouflage vests to lower infiltration time, you might want to keep right on harvesting fro...

Here's a mod that lets you see in the black market window what the items are used for, to make it easier to know whether or not you want to sell them:

Re: Making the war longer

For me, True Concealment is like having direct control over the last few turns of infiltration. If I can sneak my entire squad around to the objective, well good for me! If I get caught, well now I have time to deal with things properly.

Re: extraction point compromised bug

I've seen this kind of thing happen a few times, and it seems to me that it's always because there is an enemy pod standing inside the extraction tiles at the start of the mission, thereby compromising the extraction.

Re: Mod: True Concealment

The way I look at True Concealment is that it gives me direct control over the last few turns of my mission infiltration. Also, I use many of the larger map packs, including Suffer!, so this fits the idea pretty well.

Re: Gunner Nerfs

In regards to their role as a heavy weapons unit, Gunners *should* have low or no mobility while performing their function, much like Sharpshooters. You can move, or you can shoot, but you can't do both without special training and/or equipment. Gunners really *shouldn't* be such powerful assets on ...

I would ask a couple questions here:

How many people are playing the game to win as soon as possible?

How many people are playing the game because they enjoy playing the game, and not actively trying to win as soon as possible?

Re: Is something broken with my reinforcements?

So I have a mission infiltrating now in a region with 7 strength, and it's a light hack mission on a train with a 14 day timer on it. Surely this is a trap mission, right? But here's the kicker: It also says it will counter a dark event. My questions are these: If a hack mission is a trap, can it fa...

Re: AWC ??? Perks don't fit the Role

Assault with Infighter, Deadshot, and Gunslinger as the first three AWC perks... and Ever Vigilant after Infighter. Can't wait to finish her close combat build! I think the main reason that the AWC perks are random like this, is to give each soldier some individuality. Maybe your new Ranger used to ...

Re: PSA use assaults for stealth missions you can't lose.

You can also build assaults specifically for this type of activity by giving them several defensive perks. In this way, assaults can get in, do what they went in to do, and get out, specifically *without* killing anything in the process. Imagine how many commanders simply cannot fathom handing an as...

Re: Is roust bugged or I had rolled a 0.000000001 probability?

You're lucky that Roust does any damage at all. Damage is not the primary, secondary, or even tertiary purpose of Roust. The primary purpose is to force a target, usually multiple targets, to change location, typically to force them to trigger overwatch with suppression. The secondary purpose is the...

Re: How many are attempting "Light" Guerrilla Ops with 6-ish soldiers?

To me, it seems like the goal is for people to use 6 man teams to infiltrate objectives and *try* not to get into contact with enemies unless and until it's absolutely necessary. Sure, you could have taken a lone Shinobi to sneak around to the jail and hack open the door, then tell all the guys in j...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?

With my fairly limited experience using Psi Ops in LW2, I think the skill I liked the most was Fuse, and that was because it didn't have a cooldown so I could use it every turn, and it would always hit if the conditions were met (i.e., target has grenade, fuse always makes it explode). It was essent...

Currently, snakes can also spit poison through solid ground in much the same way, without having line of sight. I'm pretty sure I saw it on the list of things to fix for 1.3.

Re: Noise mechanics question, heavy weapon balance consequences!

I think for most people, grenades are way too valuable a resource to just throw away on literally nothing. It would probably be more common to have people with squad sight shooting explosive objects in the map at the request of a concealed forward observer. Changing the behavior of alerted pods to i...

Re: "Protect Data tap" missions seem unbalanced

I don't think the issue people have with these missions is the balance, but more precisely, the huge variations in how the missions can play out. For defending the data tap in particular, the rebels at the objective have some weapons, but more importantly, they have some critical consumables that ar...

Re: SPARKS worth it?

The Bulwark skill alone can make a SPARK worth taking in some squads. Got some overwatch Rangers or Specialists with Ever Vigilant? Dash them up to flank a pod, then move the SPARK up to provide cover at the most strategic (or just the furthest) location they could reach. If it's an overwatch SPARK,...
