It also feels more real because in reality, many shots miss or debilitate a target. Rightout kills are way too common in media. I hope not. IMHO, TFTD was quaint but it didn't really feel like XCOM. I mean, the whole fighting under water was weird, didn't really feel like I was fighting aliens you know?

Maybe I'm crazy, but I find some weird comfort in hearing the gang talking when I'm in the Avenger. Makes if feel homely. Even Bradford's nagging, it's like he's the ships mom or something. (?)

It'd be really useful to have an in-game log for the strategic section that shows the dates of important events, such as when you liberated a region, when a dark event went active, when a rebel was recruited, etc. I think it'd be a good QOL to help with having an idea on when to expect retaliations ...

Just to add my experience: Last night I used shutdown on a Heavy Mec with 16hp, at the end of the stun it lost around 8hp so I had to actively kill it before it regained it's actions on the following turn.

Yup, had that happen to me as well. But I don't mind, those scenic settings are well worth any glitches in the loading screen (as long as it does load the mission )

I'm sure I read a post a few days ago by one of the Pavonis guys or one of the testers about high ground defense not being a thing in XCOM2, except of course when granted by a perk (DGG in this case).
