Sword Shinobi with decent AIM almost never miss a swing. And with Whirlwind or Reaper it become even better, since you can clear overwatch by killing or heavily wounding a target and f off to safety.Zyrrashijn wrote:Except that Shadowstep itself does not remove overwatch.

Re: Combatives fix
Players don't like RNG they can't manipulate. I believe almost nobody will choose Combatives in 1.5 if this change goes live. Same for Incendiary greandes. Why bother with unstable grenade what will put you down every 1 of 4 uses?
I will just pick Shadowstep, just to have free overwatch removal tool.

Re: Please rethink this!
To be serious, levels of ridiculousness reachable for Ark Thrower far beyond fire grenades capabilities. Activated 20 things simultaneously - no problem, just Run&Gun to flank most of things and shut them all down with 100% chance.

Re: (Sharpshooter balancing) Death From Above / Rapid Targeting / Snap Shot
Holobots is very usable as officers for combat heavy missions like HQ's or Supply Raids as they stay with the squad and continuously buff squad damage output and accuracy. Even 55 AIM holobot get to 83 on MSGT level, with scope, elevation and holotargeting they rarely miss something. My main issue w...

Re: Please rethink this!
Players will use most effective and reliable tools to get things done, with continuous nerfs to crowd control abilities reliability players will have no choice, but to switch to another tactics. Or stop playing, because no effective tools left at all. Now I thinking about Assault Ark Thrower, 100% c...

Re: Please rethink this!
Devs continuously cut off all abilities to reliably control enemies. This is sad tendency. Players will find ways to deal with it, but will it be funny and entertaining? For me it's not funny already, I stopped playing after facing 7 MEC pods which I can't control of kill fast enough to avoid casual...

SPARK's very strong tanks for instant missions like retaliations. I tanked full Avenger defense with my SPARK + 2 Aid Protocols from Specialists, it took only two hits from two dozens of aliens.

Re: (Sharpshooter balancing) Death From Above / Rapid Targeting / Snap Shot
DFA sniper can take out one target per turn if he have elevation and LOS and Steady. Generally, it useful only on untimed missions. I don't see how this is overpowered and why someone may want to nerf it. Long Watch need something like covering fire integrated to make it worthy. Snapshot SS very use...

Re: Should I skip low-time Data Leak mission?
I always try to kill relay. I field biggest possible combat squad with Sharpshooter, try to fins LOS on relay from afar and snipe it, while other guys defending evac flyer. This is much more controllable environment then retaliation or terror.

Re: Prison Jail Break - Confused by Strategy and reinforcement timers
Some horrendously big maps was added in last patch. I had mission with objective 10 full dashes away from me and another 10 to evac zone. I don't think it even possible to do, since I had 4 turns left for actual fighting and hacking jail cells. I decided to just reload mission to get more reliable m...

Re: Too much starting randomness
After 1.3 I have only one stats/class combination I can't deal with - low aim Sharpshooter. They can catch up as holobots with decent aim on high ranks because of natural SS stat progression, but leveling them up is the pain in the ***.

Re: Assault Rifle Assault builds?
I got low mobility + high aim assault from Gatecrusher and decided to go Electroshock > Ark Pulser > Stun Gunner > Extra Conditioniing > Rapid Fire > Untouchable > Chain Lighting. This is work fine, but after some missions I switched from rifles to SMG's. This guy was combat heavy missions hero, R'n...

Re: Too many MEC's
I had a 4-MEC pod some time ago and I am currently in June. Commander difficulty. Sadly, I don't remember what kind of mission it was, only that I was cocky, so probably under-infiltrated in a high strength region. That said, depending on my soldiers I sometimes prefer MECs to other soldiers. I can...

Too many MEC's
I just finished my 1.4 Veteran/Non-Ironman campaign and in late game I faced weird ammont of MEC's in combat heavy missions. Last one was command pod (probably) on facility destruction mission, it was 7 various MEC's + sectoid commander. Not long before it was UFO with 5 MEC's + berserker pod. So ma...

Re: Advent global alert level.
Keep in mind that the avatar base timer has been adjusted to be slower, you were never really meant to have avatar progress slowed by large amounts, if at all. If your keeping 5+ squads busy, your probably doing fine. I have equipment pool good enough for 26 soldiers + 1 Spark? so mostly it is 4 sq...

Re: Can something be done about pod patrol routes?
Oddly enough, I don't feel so much need in scouting anymore. Actually, I usually go straight to objective and try to engage first non-solo drone pod as fast as I can. It's easier and safer to just kill all the things. If I try to avoid contact and so some semi-stealth it always end badly, I got surr...

Advent global alert level.
I have four 5-6 man squads doing missions non-stop for months now and Avatar project slowed down only by 8%. This is worrying me. How many missions I need to run to get Advent attention? Probably I can get equipment for 1 or 2 more squads, but currently I do all missions what can be done relatively ...

You can level up to 7 soldiers on Extremely Light missions. It's awesome perk,, I find it extremely useful.Icarus wrote:How much is it worth, actually? Most of my low-levelled soldiers level up after mission due to mission xp anyway. How much does Trial By Fire save, actually?

Well, yesterday my soldier in half-cover was shot two times in a row by simple m2 troops which was flashbanged and suppressed simultaneously. I think there is some error in hit chance calculations.

Re: Retaliations
I'm changed my strategy about Intel retaliations. If region have 4+ Advent strength I remove adviser, put 4 rebels on intel job and hide everybody else. This is good enough to get decent timers on Troop Columns, Supply Raids and Dark Events and I don't care about other mission types here. If Intel r...

Re: What are the uses of Field surgeon?
If FS worked on the first HP, it would of course be infinitely more useful, as scratches would cause no wound timer. Even beyond the "wound reduction time", this would allow you to shrug off scratches and send the soldier in on a pending mission. Maybe that's how FS should behave? Does it...

Anyone like Kubikiri in AWC?
From my point of view this is now absolutely worst AWC perk available. Only assaults can have reliable crit chance and they almost always need to move before the shot. Can someone suggest good use for it?
