I've seen a lot of posting about how the faction heroes are overpowered for LW2, but I don't think I agree in general. Yes, they're very powerful - the Skirmisher is like a supercharged Ranger, the Templar is like a supercharged Shinobi, the Reaper is like a supercharged Shinobi/Sharpshooter hybrid....

I've used Advent Sniper, Celatid, and Bio Troops (with the base game, none with LW2 - may be incompatible). Haven't used the other ones. Instead of just sidearms and stuff to go in equipment slots, I'd love to see some more variations in secondary weapons. There are a LOT of things to go in equipment slots - vests, ammo, grenades, pistols, etc. - how about some of these to replace secondary items? I don't see much point in the taser,...

I've never found much use for a combat Specialist, actually, though I know some people are very much in favor of them. I generally run with a mixed bag, but almost always with two Rangers. So here I am, with a squad of two rookies, four shotguns, and a high-level pistol sniper. Reinforcements next turn, everyone's in overwatch, but I know not a single shot is going to actually hit... and they spawn right on top of me, and every shot hits. It's like christmas.

Are you certain you were two tiles away? IIRC this last update was supposed to fix a bug where certain overwatch shots would graphically put a soldier out of his actual location, but in reality he would still be there. I say "supposed to" because, although I admit the frequency of this bug...

I had the Nest POI spawn a second time, and did not scan or go on that mission. The Berserker Queen appeared just fine, but when I killed her, Bradford gave the "that's the last of them, three dead aliens, three corpses to research" (or whatever he said) and the Archon King never showed up...

The bug with the Alien Nest showing up twice will require a new campaign. IIRC everything else (so far) will not.
It's the one reason I'm waiting to start a new game. :)
