Re: More details on War of the Chosen
As much as I am loving LW2, I am absolutely going to play at least one run-through of the vanilla War of the Chosen (w/ fun custom character and qol mods, of course) before any Long War version even IF they have a LW adaptation ready to go at release. To me, it seems the obvious way to go. LW is awe...

Re: What class color-coding do you use?
I definitely use a color coding to instantly recognize my guys, and have since EU. Red for assaults, Blue for specialists, White for snipers, etc. I still use these in general, but I am very much enjoying the creation of individual soldiers, kind of like superheroes, and try to make them unique, inc...

LOL. It would be awesome to have a sectopod haven guardian. That would rule.

Re: Is there a way to resurrect 0 rebel region?
I know that having experienced and officer-trained soldiers as haven advisors will increase the likelihood of detecting faceless, and that having a soldier as advisor helps with recruitment. But does the officer rank affect how much they influence recruitment? In other words, is there any difference...

Plasma weapon rupture
Hi. GREAT MOD, btw. Loving it, and looking forward to loving 1.3 even more! Quick question: does the single point rupture effect of plasma weapons stack with multiple hits? If so, even from the same soldier during the same turn? If not, I sort of wish that they shredded instead. Also, I'm not crazy ...

Re: Why a dog?
I like the dog, because it brings to bear the idea that we are at a resistance camp, a place where people are trying to lead their lives. But it seems weird that this portrait would be in so many resistance homes. So I figure there are two possible explanations. The first is that this is not a portr...

Re: Proposal: Phase out graze for higher-accuracy shots
I certainly don't grock the mechanics of the game as deeply as you guys do, but what would seem to make sense to me is if the mathematics of a to-hit calculation goes ABOVE 100% or BELOW 0% then the extra should be trimmed off the chance to graze. It's sort of like if a shot has exactly 100% to hit,...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?
Looking at the 1.3 patch notes, it does look ling some good things are happening for Psi soldiers. To me, the best single thing is making insanity and mind merge (and I can't remember if others) not end your turn. That change alone can make a big difference.

Re: What happens to existing run when 1.3 hits?
I found this nice, clear explanation of how to respec your troops more or less instantly in the awc, for anyone who, like me, has only basic skills at editing ini files and needs to retrain existing soldiers after 1.3 kicks in. Enjoy. :P Go to the longwar workshop folder and open the XComGameData.in...

Cool. Thanks.Zyrrashijn wrote:http://www.pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB ... 20&t=23738
I'll just edit the ini's for the awc respec tank to take zero days, then. No console needed. Works for me.

Re: What happens to existing run when 1.3 hits?
They will sort-of keep their perks. Picture the perk tree for one of your soldiers, and think about how you picked the "left" perk for level 1, the "center" perk for level 2, and so on. A number of the perk trees are going to be adjusted, with perks moving around. The game will ...

What happens to existing run when 1.3 hits?
Hi. Sorry for the noob-like question, and sorry if it's already discussed elsewhere. But what happens with my existing playthrough when 1.3 hits? I know I can go to offline mode if I want to keep it as 1.2, but it would be fun to see the new stuff in 1.3. I don't want to just start a new game becaus...

Re: Infinite campaign
I can't really tell if it is "infinite"? but I set the fortress doom generator to zero in the ini's, and that gives a nice manageable pace on the doom clock. Sure, it's "cheating", but I'm not playing to compete with the computer. Just to have fun. I don't really care if I "...

Re: Psi Ops still suck?
Thanks to both of you! I look forward to seeing what 1.3 does. And thanks tons for all the work Pavonis has put into this amazing mod. I'm having a BLAST with it. Pardon the dumb question, but when 1.3 drops, do I need to start a new campaign to use it, or does it kick in with my existing game?

Re: Psi Ops still suck?
Hi. Thanks for the informative discussion on Psi Ops. I agree with an earlier post that with the time and resources you have to dedicate to getting Psi Ops, they should be "gods among men". As they are in 1.2, they are arguably the weakest class in the game, which is a shame because I also...
