Re: Blacksite: Squad not taking overwatch shots
Some Advent units get Shadowstep so do not trigger overwatch. Commandos and Scouts and some other units from Dark Events.

Re: Crash to desktop with new .NET runtime 4.7.2 (SOLVED - corrupt savegame)
Just had the same thing in the final Leviathan room on my first Commander/Ironman run that made it that far. Start of turn autosave could be the cause. Had to console in a 1 HP Avatar to complete the game

Re: Questions/feedback about Smash & Grab
Smash & Grabs were only introduced in 1.5 :D I like that they're revealed start as it mixes it up a bit, makes the mission play out differently. I recently did one with a Shinobi, two Rapid Reaction Rangers and two DFA snipers, who I brought as filler to pick up boxes and XP as noone else was av...

Re: How long until you moved on?
I used to play a mixed ruleset of Necromunda and 40K specifically as a tabletop XCOM back in the day, I didn't know they were bringing it to the PC!

Re: How long until you moved on?
What do you mean 'moved on'? Is there a LW3?
I keep wandering off to play other games every now and again, but soon return after seeing how shallow the tactics and strategy are compared to LW2. My last such detour was Battletech, which turned out to be an empty and repetitive experience.

I also found the same with the Forge. RNFs starting dropping before I even got the suit.

Re: ...about Xwynn's near disastrous mission last night...
Hindsight is a wonderful thing :) Though, having said that, I expected quite a mission when I saw he was actually going to play it. I was not disappointed. I do agree though, rockets ahoy really needs rifles and cannons to follow up with exposed shots. Its why I rarely use them as openers. Fire work...

Re: Announcement regarding LW2+WotC
I'm not disappointed as I think it would have been a tremendous effort to try and rework such diverse branches into a single trunk again. Not that I wouldn't want the end product, but I agree if that much work is to be put into something, it is better being your own project. Its a good call and I lo...

Re: LW 1.5 Grenadier builds
I use Grenadier officers a lot. RD and later Salvo keeps them very useful when you need every action point. Works well with a shooty smoker build.

Re: Detecting faceless/rendezvous missions
Anyway, fleeing a rendezvous isn't completely trivial. You need to get the evac flare down before engaging the faceless pod, which makes you lose concealment. So you can - scout out the number of faceless before losing concealment and retreat if necessary - or give up on concealment right at the st...

Re: Concussion Rocket?
So if you get into close quarters combat, you can safely concussion rocket your own position and troops, stunning the enemy and putting your soldiers into smoke against other enemies at range? Sounds awesome if thats the way it works

Re: Infiltration vs fatigue
Could you alleviate the chore/issue of the same gear constantly being unequipped and reequipped by locking it to fatigued soldiers under the guise of maintenance? Eg while a soldier is tired you cant remove any items from the as they are resting and getting their kit in order. You could still of cou...

Re: Low mobility Shinobi?
Reap high health enemy, then Fleche low health one (or two), setting up for a flanked Hit and Run on a 3rd into Rapid Fire or escape is extremely powerful and requires excellent mobility. I never waste my shinobis as pure spotters, they always break concealment at the appropriate moment, which is al...

Obviously a faceless.
I'm not sure of what you mean though as I'm unaware of any LW2 mission where you get friendly RNFs.

Re: Kubikiri. Good or way too good?
I only bother mastering Drones and they always give me haven MECS. Are you definitely using the second option when hacking them as the first will only control it for the mission and not add it to the haven?

Re: Kubikiri. Good or way too good?
It's supposed to provide some bonus to Haven like anything that isn't a mech (Sectopod, Turret, Drone) but I didn't get what's the bonus is really. Perhaps a bug at least in description. Any mech you master using FO, from Drone to Sectopod becomes a standard Advent MEC in the associated haven. Dron...

Re: Sniper: AMF vs Double Tap
Firstly, all my SS use DFA. I find the range bonus and extra Steady/Reload far better than any other choice. Even Mr Magoo the 55 aim rookie from Gatecrasher gets it (its then complemented by all the other +aim skills and they get shoved into a Haven for the rest of their lives). On the final tier I...

Re: Solution for Combatives issue
So you could make it an activated ability with a CD or just change it completely to provide other benefits. Of all the suggestions I like this the most. +10 dodge is static and a free action with cooldown to go en garde to give you 100% chance to parry every melee attack for 1 turn, reducing with e...

As dumb as it sounds, I haven't actually checked, I mentioned it as an afterthought as normally I will steady up for TG ambush or an opportunistic SS on a mech.

Re: Steady Weapon suggestion
I do that for high aim Slugshot+Trench Gun builds. It makes the shot/stun better and its fantastic if you can pull of a Trench Gun ambush while steadied. I don't usually take both expanded+autoloader on shotguns as they usually have spare APs for reloads between fights so it goes on with those specs...

Re: Hit and Run, Close Encounters Behavior
Err no. Shooting (and many other things) are turn ending actions. It ends your turn. H&R and CE then give you a bonus AP. Its supposed to work that way.
