Re: Burning not working?

Oh, ok. Didn't know that. Well that sux. I'll let my shinobi know that it's ok if they're on fire. Yes, though I'm not shure if they can fleche while burning. Maybe you will be restricted to a blue move and slash attack. I thought that Units on fire were restricted to moving. Never seen even a relo...

Re: Magnetic Weapons - why?

In 1.4 coil requires both - adv. mag. and elerium. No laser though. That's why some players skip laser and rush mag to coil. There were no comments in the latest patchs update about changing amy resarch paths so you will still have to research mag to reach coil. Damn. If that's true, I guess I'll j...

Re: Magnetic Weapons - why?

If that is true, I can still Research magnetic weapons afterwards, in case I don't Need them for coil Research anyway.
Have almost maxed out my lab so I think it will take 20 or so days. 11 days for elerium if Memory serves right. Gotta survive until then.

Re: Magnetic Weapons - why?

As Noober says you do need to via mag. You need it for coil anyway. But you don't have to equip everyone with mag: just the people who use their primary all the time, so shooty/OW rangers, OW specs, shooty gunners, sharps. Your assaults might be able to last with old tech but you won't regret build...

Re: So Johnny and the devs ...

The fatigue System added such an enjoyable layer to the strategic Play, I agree. It was a lot of fun trying to optimize squads and loadouts with an economic mindset. Send what you Need, no more, no less. That was quite an enjoyable challenge. Before, you could just send your A-Team, and re-send your...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

Had quite a mimimi Moment yesterday in my Ironman campaign :( Besides several technicals getting wounded on several missions, this happened: Was a steal item Mission. I had 3 enemy pods surround my starting Position, I get spotted, all 3 pods move in and of Course also blow my shinobi cover even tho...

Re: Magnetic Weapons - why?

Coil research time is twice more then mag (Legend) and even more as it require elerium. And the worst part is that coil weapon is REALLY expensive to build. Even if you rush for it you will not be abble to quickly equip all your shotty classes with that shiny toys. By mid june on Legend you should ...

Re: LW 1.5 Specialist Builds

Such a hard choice between Revival and combat protocol IMO. But I find myself missing combat protocol more on my Revival protocol specs than the other way around. On the other Hand though, Revival protocol can save lives. You could always walk fire or grenade an almost dead target. As I said. Such a...

Magnetic Weapons - why?

Hi all, was just wondering. I am in mid june and have been using laser rifles for some time now. Since Money has been collecting "itself" (poor robbed advent) bit by bit, I started to think about upgrading weapon Tier. Now I had the choice between magnetic weapons or elerium which will lea...

Re: [AAR] Commander Ironman Walk in the Park

In my playthrough rangers are a fixed part of every offensive Team, if possible. By offensive I mean everything that is not a 1- or 2- or 3-man Mission where I try to remain undetected and bail out after completing the objective. Walk fire is basically the ranger's combat protocol and is great for k...

Re: Grenadier builds

With Tandem warheads, you should destroy cover even outside of the area Center, right? In my experience, high cover usually never gets destroyed completely. Which is why I lost faith into specialized sapper Grenadiers. Tandem does not affect environmental damage. It's stated in the extra tooltip un...

Since they work professionally, I'm quite sure pavonis always have a pretty detailed concept before they start working. I cannot speak for Pavonis, but the number of professionals (software developers and other people) who 'hit the ground running' without a 'pretty detailed concept' beforehand is s...

Re: More precise, = "aimed", overwatch

Yeah I really wonder why you Need to waste a PCS Slot for that. Although I'm seriously considering to do that for the assault class. Because they would Profit so much from overwatches where they let Units come into 75% range before firing. Question is, how often do you put your assault on OW AND an ...

Since they work professionally, I'm quite sure pavonis always have a pretty detailed concept before they start working. Once you start working, you don't want to start anew on a theoretical Level. Also, what are classes? Classes are nothing more than descriptions for Units, and Units are just a sum ...

I'd like a class where you shoot pidgeons from the sky with a bullet that creates a giant Explosion when the dead bird hits an advent's head.
Get to it, pavonis. And don't tell me the Odds.

Re: Viper's bind makes environment explode

This is vanilla behavior. Looks like we removed the environmental damage from the tongue itself, but not from the bind part. I guess that was probably just an oversight and not a design choice, because LW2 removes a lot of the environmental damage from many attacks like this. Ah, cool! Does this me...

Viper's bind makes environment explode

I just had it happens twice on a mission, that a viper binding an operative next to an explosive (in my case, both times the cabing of a truck (like the ones where you need to retrieve times from) makes the explose go boom. If that's intentional, I find it both unintuitive and frustrating when this ...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

From a purely commerical standpoint it could also mean that they're not allowed to discuss not planning to work on LW2 support for WotC so people buy the expansion "in advance" because they (the buyers) hope LW2 support will be added in the future. Saying that WotC will remain vanilla migh...

Re: If we'll get LW for WoTC, can we have (much) less concealment in it?

Musashi's mods are a mixed bag. The throwing knife is interesting in giving you a few uses of silent kill per mission but the melee Combat Knife implements Slient kill in a weird and extremely abusable way. The suppressors are not too bad but much much stronger than WotCs Reaper which i consider th...
