That mechanic doesn't exist in LW2 - the Black Market operates entirely on Supplies (not Intel) and doesn't have research rush options. If you're seeing it, another mod is likely messing with your Black Market.

I put SMGs on every soldier who isn't primarily a shooter, which typically means Grenadiers, Shinobi, and Technical. The +3 mobility bonus is huge.

You can give soldiers with low base mobility less utility items to increase their mobility. Some people are just too slow to carry lots of stuff into battle.
I give SMGs to all my Technicals and Shinobi (and usually Grenadiers). That's a whopping +3 mobility. Gotta go fast!

The rubberband thing where pods beeline to you even if you're concealed if you cross the line between them and the objective is also gone in LW2. I think.

Huh. How much Intel are you getting from a typical mission? Should be about 30. Any rebel recruited can be a Faceless, so if your Haven is clean and doesn't grow you know it's safe. The Recruit job doesn't actually require you to buy rebels, it just gets them for you over time. You only have to buy ...

Are you sure rushing research isn't from a different mod? That's not a mechanic in LW2... Not that I know of, anyway. LW2 market should deal all in supplies.

It's the first one - he just offsets his own chance. I wouldn't use Hiding much in the early game - more like when Advent Strength gets up near 9 or 10 and you're getting hammered by retals.

Burning is basically a stun that does damage. It's great. Disorient applies -25 aim, mobility penalty, and locks out most abilities that aren't shoot or OW. I usually wait to put people on Supply until I've Liberated my first region. In general in LW2, the Intel job for rebels will be most overall effective for you as long as you have enough squads to do the missions you're detecting (and can succeed in them). That's a good observation - as a guerrilla resistance, it's often not in XCOM's favor to try and fight all the enemies on the map. Because enemies in LW2 patrol on their own patrol paths (instead of knowing exactly where XCOM is and rubberbanding towards them right when XCOM crosses their path as in...

One thing you might try after troubleshooting steps to confirm is clicking in the mission icons on the tray at the bottom of the geoscape. Those can be a wee bit more reliable than the ones on the actual globe sometimes.
