The loot containers in vanilla are not empty. That's just a visual glitch. The loot shows up at the end of the mission.

Right, has map size been altered in any way?

Are there themed missions? Something like a base assault that only has robots as enemies or an invasion only by chryssalids?

This is amazing. So I take it soldiers can now no longer be recruited limitlessly? That would fit the rebel theme so much better. How does the "gather intelligence" part work? Do you get clues about Advent activities similar to the exalt base search in EW? Or is it just a mission that pops...

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work just like that, because the new enemies wouldn't have the better AI profile assigned to them. You'll have to wait for compatibility updates or work through the ini files yourself.

It doesn't fit the style of vanilla 100%, but obviously, the capabilities are there in the modding community. Maybe something like this gets added unofficially to LW2 after it releases.

The unique weapons sound amazing and I'm very glad to see that they can be switched out for a pistol.

Do all weapon tiers follow standard XCOM 2 procedure? Well yes, but the thing is you need to do it with armor, too. And if you forget a weapon in vanilla, you're only missing out on a few minor upgrades, in LW2, you'd basically have a useless soldier if he keeps the ballistic weapon. That feels right, very much like LW for EW.

Do the weapon tiers have different characteristics other than just better damage? Like different armor pierce values/ aim bonuses/ crit bonuses/ mag sizes and so on?
