Long War 2 attempts to change the template of the Shredstorm Cannon, but fails. It's the same width as the Shred Gun, but with a lot more range, resulting in a weapon capable of taking out pods beyond visual range. The hitting unactivated pod thing seems very overpowered. It's like having your saturation fire stealth opening repeatedly. IOW, the first three soldiers don't have _increasing_ infiltration times, it's just that taking the extra two soldiers doesn't cost you that much, such that usually you can still hit your goal for the infiltration (100%, 200%, whatever you're aiming for) with a 5 soldier squad. Thanks a lot for answer. I thought that it worked on fixed steps, I thought that an 100% Extremely light was the same as a 124% extremely light. So (correct me if I am wrong) a longer infiltration time can decrease alien numbers instead the description of alert was the same, for example the E-L 100...

For me, in the late game Supplies isn't an issue, E. Cores and especially Archon corpses are much rarer. Also, the free action range attack of the axe can be big on a clutch turn. Free action range? This is not really how activity works. The infiltration pct has 12 steps leading up to 100% and 3 steps after. The first 12 steps are every 8.333% and the last 3 steps are at 125/150/200. Simply put, 5-6 man squads simply don't have the 'squad budget' to factor in both offensive power and control. These are the two elements that matter most in this game.
