Elements of what would have been EXALT quite possibly exist within ADVENT. They're very different organizations though.
Firaxis put the EXALT bandana in the game, so PI aren't the only ones.

Re: no advent officer autopsy?
Verify your install in Steam. Also start a campaign without mods. Something is broken. You never get bodies from extraction missions though. If you leave via the Skyranger, you get no bodies as you have no time to recover them. This is the value of troop column ambushes and retaliation missions as y...

If you mean the one they carry as a primary, no.
"Heavy Weapons" are the ones mounted on the EXO and WAR suits and the Technical's rocket flamer.

I've definitely seen plenty of flashbangs if the engineers are left unmolested. I don't group up in general, LW1 mutons broke me of that habit.

Re: A couple of questions and earlt game feedback
The explanation I saw was that the game totals up all the XP that the enemies on the map would be worth in vanilla. If you win the mission, you get all of that divided amongst the surviving squad. If you fail you get a portion (30%?) of it. If you kill enemies, the trooper who killed them gets some ...

Re: PCS slots and overwatch PCS
Yeah, I agree they're neat, but they're not forgo any PCS neat. If it was some sort of setting on the soldier it would be much better.
But maybe that's because I despise Covering Fire, Firaxis-style ambushes, and Overwatch strats in general.

Re: Feedback for the "firing on activation" mechanic
Shinobis and Battle Scanners. If a pod flanks into you and you didn't know it was there, you didn't check your flanks before engagement.
You have the smaller force. Your guys are not expendable. You have to know what you're getting into before you pull the trigger.

Re: TO all having problems with timers.
I agree that you have to know what you're getting into. It was the same in vanilla, don't send slowpokes and snipers to a hit and run, bring them to a stand up fight. Shinobis and Sepcialists excel at infiltration, Gunners and Sharpshooter are way better on a retaliation or a convoy ambush.

Re: Call Skyranger and Hacking breaking concealment?
Yeah, I always figured the hack got the door open, it didn't do so without alerting anyone.
Calling Firebrand tips ADVENT off immediately when the Skyranger enters operational airspace. I could never figure out how they didn't see and hear her dropping you off in vanilla.

Re: Complementing mod suggestions
You just want Long War 2. The others are basically early test releases of content from the main mod. They'll actually mess up the mod if you run them all together. For mods that complement LW2, I'd recommend Gotcha!, Evac All, Avenger Events and its LW2 expansion, and any cosmetic mods and voice pac...

Re: Difficulty Comparisons
Yeah, I would say that LW2 is more fair. There seem to be fewer opportunities for bad RNG to punish you, and you aren't pushed to make a great start out of the gate or have the whole run blown in the first few missions. (I would say that LW2 is an easier early game then vanilla Legend, not because i...

Re: Can the back wall of jail be blasted open?
Fire is the most reliable method. It seems to burn though anything given time. When I've grenaded prison cells it has always been the fires that actually did the trick. Yes but then you need to worry about setting the VIP on fire and waiting however long it takes to burn through. :P Sometimes it's ...

Re: Speed and general suggestions
Slow people can be useful on untimed missions, or with sniper rifles. Speed is really important though. Stats don't really factor into classes all that much. Your fastest should probably be Assaults, but Sharpshooters are awkward to use in X2 so they're not automatically the best idea for high aim. ...

Re: Shinobi // SMG?
I concur, I used SMG heavily in vanilla, on Shinobis and Specialists, and the movement and detection benefit can be huge. I had one soldier who had 15 mobility, I GTSed her to Shinobi, got Covert, slapped an SMG on her and she was almost undetectable. I actually once got her completely passed the en...

Re: True concealment
Someone might be confusing it with some of the Shinobi's skills. Or maybe they badly misread Infiltration. I'd argue that True Concealment should be a thing on data vault missions. Especially since Firebrand doesn't drop you off any more and ADVENT should have no idea you're coming, or what day you ...

Re: Line of Play
I've only played a few missions, but I've noticed the AI camping the objective when it's somehing like a data vault or prisoners. If you spawn on a big map, you can spend three or four turns running with no contact, so the AI is definitely not just intercepting you on the line anymore. I haven't had...

I read infiltration percentages as "we are 100% prepped and ready to go", with higher numbers representing additional work. "We could launch now, everything's set, but since we have the time Rodgers wants to look into some potential alternate angles of attack." You're acquiring b...

Re: Any difference between the two ranger classes other then starting weapons?
Yeah, the old classes show up in the character pool editor because Long War removed them from play, not from the game. The only time this would come up would be with a LW2-compatible version of Use My Class, in which case always use the second versions. They made all the new versions of the characte...
