I've talked about this on the forum before, actually. The gunner's knife isn't as underwhelming as you would think, its a very excellent way to finish off enemies that are critically injured and get too close... And if you are making them into a tank, it can be a way to possibly stop melee attackers...

If you didn't get to move at all then yes, that was a bug of somekind :x the Advent should only move after you do that whole look at your squad, look at your objectives, look at your squad, wait 5-10 seconds, then control. Advent should only move after you have ran around.

I am on commander and got nailed by some pretty nasty dark events that I had no chance of countering. I've been relying heavily on shinobi and recently reaper to chew through enemies.

I believe this bug is due to a memory leak, I've had extremely high memory cost for XCOM2 whenever this happens.

I'm sure the majority of users would agree with you. But like many forums, the ride-or-die fan boys posting here aren't big on common sense. If you search the forums, you will find a post that shows you how to adjust the dark events so the duration is no longer 999. Or maybe this mod isn't for you....

Kind of but not exactly... I would like a cap so they are you know, competitive with coilguns and beams but yeah I guess this is a band-aid fix :x.

In vanilla there was an .ini option that limited the number of simultaneous active dark events per month. There must be still an option (or way) to regulate that in LW2. Omfg this thing looks FANTASTIC! Seriously, you guys out-did yourself with it. I was upset at the SMG's weird texture issues for beam rifles but holy gosh the coilgun just... Looks perfect. This is why you break concealment.
That doesn't really explain why it breaks concealment, that would be a perfect reason why enemies are alerted but not why your hacker instantly is revealed.

This is an issue with the base game sometimes, and especially with larger squads over the stock vanilla number. Rush to Coil weapons. That would be Elerium, if you can afford that and to produce about 8+ coil weapons you could pull out. Armor might be a big factor, if you don't have some good plating and a few pieces of predator armor then you will have a higher casualty rate than what would be normal. Howeve...

The ONLY reason to use the flamethrower now is for the smoke. Its just... So worthless lol. Its super unreliable for dealing damage or burning, I literally just fire it off at nothing for free smoke grenades basically.
