Re: [General Feedback] Thoughts after first full playthrough
But by the time I get gas grenades they aren't competing against regular flashbangs. They're competing against Bluescreen Sting Grenades from my support grenadier, which go further, have a 50% stun chance, and hit mechanicals as well as bio enemies. I suppose I could use gas grenades on my non-Grena...

Re: dreaded 1.2 question
From reading the in-progress notes, 1.2 is almost certainly going to mess with AWC and psi perks quite a bit, so I suspect a restart may be required.
Personally I'm waiting on 1.2 before I start a new game.

Re: [General Feedback] Thoughts after first full playthrough
I feel you on the retaliation spam. For the last 2 months I had the same thing, with a bunch of defend the datataps as well. Definitely a case of the Civ disease, since they are interesting/tense early on when you only have a few regions. They apparently don't give corpses for balance reasons, but ...

Yes, please. It's really annoying having to go through all this trouble to change their kit.

[General Feedback] Thoughts after first full playthrough
I did a campaign feedback post a week or so ago here . Just finished the campaign as of today, here are my thoughts. Class Balance Now that I've had a chance to play with them at Master Sergeant rank, my revised opinions on the classes: Gunners & Grenadiers: Still super strong. Cooldown gunners ...

Panicked soldiers with CCS shoot teammates
Ver 1.1, playing on Mac, playing with Stop Wasting My Time, Flank Preview, Evac All. This one is more amusing than anything else, but still probably a bug: Sectoid used its psi ability to panic my Assault with Close Combat Specialist. I ran a soldier past the Assault into CCS range, and the Assault'...

Re: Suggested fix to supply raid, troop column, HQ 0% infiltration abuse
Remove infiltration from those missions. There. Done. Fixed. This does seem to be the obvious solution. Make them like Retaliations, where you can bring a big squad but you don't get to infil. It makes more sense narratively as well, since you're supposed to be raiding a convoy that the Resistance ...

Re: Overwatch-specific builds
Yeah, high-level overwatch Rangers are very good. They're mediocre until you hit the second-from-top rank (which is where they get Rapid Reaction), but once you do they become incredibly lethal. Now that I'm in lategame in my campaign I bring one along to all my shooty missions, and their job is to ...

Re: Gunners Builds
I've found Cyclic Fire pretty useful for dealing with those 'you have too much HP' enemies like Heavy MECs, Archons, Berserkers, Sectopods, etc. Use Focus Fire/Holotarget first, and by the time the smoke clears the thing's either dead or so shredded/damaged that it's easy to finish off.

Re: Can we skip faceless man missions?
The Faceless won't be gone if you evac from a rendezvous without killing it. At least, it's not supposed to be. Which does seem kind of silly. "Hey, Bob, why weren't you there for that Faceless hunt?" "Uhhh, I was sick." "And that guy we got a look at, hanging out with that...

Re: Snap Shot?
Snapshot snipers require you to be in an incredibly narrow range band to be useful (1-5 tiles beyond visual range). Any longer than that and they can't hit the broad side of a barn, any shorter than that and you're better off with a Gunner or Ranger, or pretty much any other class for that matter. B...

Re: [General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
Incendiary grenade also has a radius of 1 tile. Incendiary Bomb has a radius of 2 tiles. So I wouldn't say Incendiary 'nades are straight up more powerful than Flamers. With Advanced Launchers that equals Radius of 4. At that point it might be straight up better, as that should be able to hit 2-3 e...

Re: [General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
I'm going to retrain that Sharpshooter as a Spotter build. Hopefully I can equip a Rifle or something instead of the default Sniper Rifle.Sharpshooter Spotter Rapid Targeting - HiDef Holo - Long Watch - Independent Tracking - Vital Point Targeting - Multitargeting - Alpha Mike Foxtrot Sharpshooter ...

Re: [General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
Honestly, I could live with not getting Dominate if it weren't for the fact that so many of the other powers are terrible. I feel like Mind Merge is the worst offender here. If you roll Soul Healing or Stasis Shield as one of your three level-up powers then at least there's a good chance that there'...

Re: [General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
The thing is that it does , but it doesn't works like it does in Vanilla, it applies at the start of the round instead. I'm not sure if that was a purposeful change or not. Wait, doesn't that mean it's almost useless? Since most Disorient/Panic effects last one turn, that means that moving the Psi ...

Re: [General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
I find psi ops to be spectacular, just takes the extra investment. Solace and Fortress extending to nearby teammates is wonderful. Stasis to lock down anything without fail for a round. As far as I can tell, Solace doesn't actually extend to nearby teammates. The ability description makes it sound ...

[General Feedback] Strategic layer and class balance
So, currently midway through my second LW campaign on Veteran (first one wiped twice on the Network Tower, this one is looking like a win) and thought I'd put up a thread with my feedback. Main takeaway is that the mod is really good! I'm thoroughly enjoying it and planning to do another playthrough...
