Welp, turned out not to be a trap mission! Unfortunately, I missed an 87% shot to kill a MEC, who bombed my Technical for max damage, destroyed his cover, and allowed a 35% shot to finish him off. Apart from that, not a scratch on me

I believe Dark Event missions have artificlally extended timers so that you have much more time to detect and intercept -- because the tactical ones are permanent. You'll want to confirm with a developer, but it's possible that the mission will 're-activate' when you reach the point under which it spawns in 1.1. If that doesn't work (or a dev says it won't) you might be able to fix it with a console command or meddling with the .ini files.

Did you first discover it on 1.0? It's not supposed to appear until later in 1.1, so it's possible that if you discovered it in 1.0, and you waited until after 1.1 came out, it would bug out in some way.
