Give the technical an smg . Not for the move, but reduced enemy detection. It lets you get close enough for a good BBQ.

In a liberated area there is no longer infiltration, because advent doesn't have any territory to infiltrate into. They try to infiltrate you and you try to respond quickly before they recapture it.

That is something I miss from the original. You could shoot at anything you wanted any time you wanted. You could even have a squad blast holes in UFO walls or the ceiling instead of using the door (took hellacious amounts of ammo though). Making them all targets all the time also opens possibilitie...

There's also a pcs that lets you ignore 25 dodge from higher elevation that might work better. And you can use a scope plus a stock for more aim bonuses.

I've not encountered this, but I suspect that the rule on targeting the explosives is activated by aliens being within a certain distance and it doesn't check for visibility. That's quite exploitable:

I think you need to run the sims comparing if you DO get 1 or 2 scientists along the way too though. Seems like basic research would have the most effect when you don't get them and be somewhat diminished if you do. Not necessarily as much as you might think, remember those scientist s will reduce ...

So you are saying that basic research does actually give research like a scientist not just reduce requirements?

My test game must have been buggy, because I didn't get that outcome.

If you are including quick draw then knife gets three attacks (quick draw plus two knife stabs) pistol gets QuickDraw plus one pistol. I hope you understand that just puts things in favor of the pistol, because a gunner with pistol gets pistol + 2 knives, vs a gunner without a pistol is just 2 kniv...

For me, I want knife over pistol every time.

If I miss with the pistol, my turn is over, if I miss with the knife I can try again. This is so important to me. Also pistols suffer from cover but knives don't

It doesn't give you one effective scientist. It reduces the number of scientists required by research projects by one.

So if a project needs 9 days and 2 scientists it afterward needs 9 days and 1 scientist.

If instead you recruited a scientist instead, then the days required would drop to 6.

I use pump action A LOT. The gun shoots only one double barrel without it. There's too many reinforcements in missions for that to be acceptable.

Relays take burn damage and the ceiling can fall on them. At least so it appears from the OP.

It appears to be a tool for recovery after being screwed by rng-eebus. Some techs and proving ground projects need a bunch of personnel, if you don't get them you stall, this gives you a way forward.

Remember that your haven troops are all rookies with assault rifles. So pick an advisor who helps in battle vs faceless and advent.

I like to drop my slowest troops as advisers because the missions are not timed. Also I can load up on utilities.

A missed shot deals zero damage. Lasers get a small acc bonus which helps early while enemies are low hp and your troops are low stats.

I'm not where I can post to the wiki, but in the alien only subsection of the perk list, poison spit is marked as a muton perk (should be viper), counterattack is a viper perk (should be muton) and bind and crush is not showing any alien (should be viper).

Cool to see this resource getting updated.
