In vanilla there was an .ini option that limited the number of simultaneous active dark events per month. There must be still an option (or way) to regulate that in LW2. Ask the devs about it and change it, no need to keep the salt flowing in the topic.

Maybe the order that some DE's take place can be troubling (like in my case, an UFO Hunt on May/June was brutal and cost me 10 soldiers), but keeping DE's permanent is a nice way to keep you from steamrolling the AI in mid/end game, like in LW1 for instance. If you can power-up your soldiers forever...

I do basic research whenever I get locked in research. Typically this happens when I'm only getting VIP rescues with no time to infiltrate, making the missions not worth my time nor risk, and when I definitely don't have anything better to research.search.

At a first moment I also thought that fire grenades were overnerfed, but just think: if they had the same radius as a frag grenade, you would just shutdown an entire pod for 2-3 turns. Suppression + Flush in LW1 used to be an awesome combo, but with suppression nerfs in LW2 I don't know if it's worth.

The SuppressionPlus mod used to fix this in the vanilla game (ignored reaction fire penalty and didn't required sight to shoot), but I don't think it's compatible with LW2 anymore.

I've seen this happen a lot of times while playing with LWPP and I saw this again with LW2. Sometimes I use trench gun and, even though the targets are highlighted, it hits one enemy and miss the others, even though it's suposed to be a 100% according to perfect information. After some testing it looks like the soldier wasn't even "loaded" properly as the other soldiers/rebels on the mission (if I use the "teleportalltocursor" command, all my soldiers/rebels teleport except the bugged soldier).
