Geez I dunno you guys, but I swear by my Sapper Grenadiers. They're basically my key combo piece to make my Rangers (even the OW ones), Gunners and even Sharpshooters be effective on timed missions. Well the thing with banking on OW on Invasions is that there seems to be a tendency of RNF dropping behind you out of sight as you move towards the beacon. Nah the reason some missions are a struggle is because a large part of his barracks is underleveled (his Memorial has more than a page and he takes a lot of wounds getting impatient) and he doesn't have a good amount of good scopes, so whenever he has to take shots they're terrible because of T3 def...

I think the critical thing to analyse is: had I done the same strategy to speed up my research, wouldn't getting the Laser tech before Mag tech put me in the same/worse/better situation? Because without good weapons, a substantial part of your barracks that depend on weapon tech to be effective gets...

Don't you need like Mag Weapons or Adv. Mag Weapons plus Elerium to even research Coilguns anyways? So what do you mean by "Rushing Coilguns?" Are you skipping Laser also? Also are you sure that by late May you're gonna have access to the 50E for Elerium tech and also 15E for Coilgun tech ...

Has something to do with the mission not loading properly. Usually happens to me with missions boosted by a Liberation that are launched immediatly without going to the avenger screen. You can end the mission with console commands but the mission comes out as a loss.

Yeah, that must have been it. Anyway, I reloaded and it went back to Light... So my guess I got the bugged MEC pod in it, which is nice I guess. Gotta keep that in mind next time I suit up a deceptively easy UFO.

Anyone knows what decides the number of enemies in the Landed UFO mission? I intercepted a UFO coming to a Strenght 3 region, it came up with something like 6d 12h (don't they usually pop with +8h?). Mission info told me it was going to be Very Light , so I deployed a team suited for small encounter...

I've found that it doesn't really matter the build, all Shinobis make good officers. Ghostwalker is tough to choose tho, when you have to constantly battle against 15-20 defense enemies in the late game. Covert tho, is an easier pick.

No that's it. And even then you might not even detect the invasion precursor, or detect it with awful times, or the AI might decide not to even trigger it despite having 8 strenght adjacent, so don't bother with intel and if the invasion happens, keep a team that can handle it available.

Bring a min of 8 people and fight it out like a GP Mission or HQ Raid. You don't even need to fret about the RNF timer, it's very long. If you don't want to waste too much time with 8+ soldiers tied up then boost it.
