Re: LW2 Strategic Layer: Managing Strength and Vigilance
In my experience the biggest thing that leads to trouble on these missions is ROBOTS. If you get these on your rebel group on Turn 1, your mission is often already over. They're immune to flashbangs, have an explosive ability that ignores smoke, and their armor protects them very well against low-t...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
Maybe we have different definitions of early game, but I consider sneks and stun lancers to be early game enemies. Everything you can meet before you can get lasers, I consider early game. I agree that snakes and stunlancers are early game. But I don't see why either of those enemies makes Flashban...

There is a TDE that gives everybody a pip of armor so that's something to consider.

Re: Capacitor Discharge vs Armor
I definitely did see the [Armor 5] icon pop up (I managed to shred it a little bit beforehand) when I used CD, so it's not just the normal gatekeeper damage reduction.

Pretty sure it was closed. Otherwise it wouldn't that much freaking armor.Zyrrashijn wrote:I don't know wether it's important or not, but was it open or closed?

Capacitor Discharge vs Armor
So last night I used Capacitor Discharge against a heavily armored Gatekeeper and the armor took most of it, dealing only 1 damage. I thought Capacitor Discharge was suppose to bypass armor? Or have I been taking crazy pills all this time?

Re: Post campaign feedback - Late game corpses
The distribution of enemy types in the game can definitely use a bit of work. For example, in almost every Enemy Material mission I've seen, there is always at least one "rainbow" pod of 8 Advent soldiers. That's 8 enemy slots devoted to useless corpses in the late game. Makes the mission ...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
My prediction for if flashbangs are nerfed is that gunners would be even more prioritized than they are currently. Area suppression isn't as good as flashbangs but there aren't a lot of good long distance crowd control options available.

Re: Balance of different difficulty levels
There is definitely a learning curve to it, but once you know how to do it that's no longer a good reason. But for example, even in your current mission, next time you get a hack workstation mission with 3 days left, send in a solo rookie to hack it, and let him die. Stealth suicide though is a pro...

Re: New and Improved Dark Events Thread
I just don't see how restricting them to areas you have contacted is a bad thing. The argument that this changes the best strategy to not expand is pointless. There's plenty of incentive to expand: you need to reach story mission locations, you need more income and you want to unlock continent boni...

Re: Monthly Resistance Report
Faceless only steals supplies from the region they're in, so yeah, you got faceless in your liberated regions. Liberation does not automatically remove faceless. New recruits into liberated regions may also contain faceless.

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
I think that would help. Other issue is that damage focused grenadiers are usurped by Shredders. When you need AOE damage or cover destruction you're better off using a shredder than a grenade, so if those were nerfed that may bring back a totally damage focused grenadier using Tandem Warheads. If ...

You have faceless infiltrators in your Havens stealing Supplies. Assign a soldier to the Haven as an advisor to root them out.

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
Would people feel that Sting Grenades were more balanced as a perk if they had -1 or -2 radius compared to Flashbangs? I think that would help. Re: Wet Work Balance
I think your suggestion would honestly be far too powerful. 150 supplies for a total retroactive 15% boost to experience is stupidly good, to the point of Wet Work would become "Take this as soon as you humanely can every single game no matter what." My suggestion earlier could amount to ...

Re: New and Improved Dark Events Thread
A bit of a necro here, but is there any point to revealing Dark Events? They'll almost never force you to make significant playstyle changes, and I think revealing makes no difference for whether or not you discover the mission to counter that Dark Event. If they're mostly inevitable anyway, why wo...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
Sorry for necro- but are Gas Grenades classified as damaging grenades or support grenades? e.g. should you take them on a support or a destructive grenadier? I can't find the info anywhere They are damage grenades, and are basically an inferior flashbang. Why do you think that they're an inferior f...

Nope. DLC missions are fixed so they actually get easier as you get more tech.

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?
Yes they do stun robots, even without bluescreen bomb. That should really be fixed. That said, there aren't many mechanical units in general, and they're usually easy to kill because they're easy to hit. That said, if sting grenades needed bluescreen in order to stun mechanicals, I'd at least consi...

Re: Wet Work Balance
Thinking about it, in order to farm kill XP successfully from RNFs, you have to bring at least a mid-size team (5+) on a stealth mission where completing the objective turns off the timer (ie. not extraction missions). Then you need to clear the map, deal with ever growing pods of RNF, including con...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?
Interesting build. Do you plan to take Combat Engineer or Full Kit for your top perk? Probably either could work. I like Full Kit, though, just because I don't really rely on grenades for cover destruction by that point. Ah I see, so it's more of a late game Support build that takes advantage of fi...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?
I've tried both full support and full damage grenadiers, and both are strong but inflexible. Support is stronger earlier because it really doesn't need any special gear apart from flashbangs and smokes, both of which are free, and it's obviously much better when you just want to buy time, but they'...
