Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered

Sorry for necro- but are Gas Grenades classified as damaging grenades or support grenades? e.g. should you take them on a support or a destructive grenadier? I can't find the info anywhere They are damage grenades, and are basically an inferior flashbang. Why do you think that they're an inferior f...

Re: Wet Work Balance

Oh come on, it's obviously unbalanced and improving it to just about anything more sensible would be wise and require little effort. I like the suggestion of just having it apply +15-20% to *all* XP. It should be retroactive like in vanilla. While I agree with your former statement, I think your su...

[Alien Hunters] Ruler Lasting Damage

From what I understand, the Rulers are supposed to retain damage fight to fight- since I damaged the Berserker Queen to about half hp and shredded her armor the first time I encountered her (she portal'd out) she had the same health the next time I encountered her. However, I just encountered anothe...

Crit Doesn't Add Up

Long story short, my sniper's crit chance isn't adding up. According to the factors listed on his bar, he should have 90% to crit; instead it shows him as 86%. I'm just baffled- not because I think he should have 90%, but because that's what his crit values add up to. In the screenshot I linked, the...

Re: Wet Work Balance

Over the course of a campaign, and dozens of soldiers (or more) going on hundreds of missions, I'm sure the cumulative benefit to XP is large. But in practice, it's not likely anything you're really going to notice all that much. I'd say only take Wet Work when you can spare the supplies. Honestly ...

Re: Wet Work Balance

Agreed, it should boost all experience sources, but much less than +33% in this case, because it should not be a no brainer pick. Probably +15-20% XP for 150 supplies is a good balance in most games. Pricey, but significant interest. As for reinforcements, yes they give XP and they should definitiv...

Re: Pistol Builds?

I still find that pistols synergize the best with (DFA) Sharpshooters. The ability to take a second shot after a successful DfA kill is absolutely amazing, especially once you're past conventional pistols and can expect more than 1-2 damage a shot from your pistole. Really? Tbh I never bother even ...

Re: ADVENT reacting to concealed movements?

For what it's worth, at least the nearest group patrolled away from me next turn, so it's not absolute; that said, something was definitely going on there. Also as a side note- I finally got Grand Theft: VIP to work out! In one turn, had a specialist open the prison door from inside the building, us...

Re: Engineers level / efficiency

It technically is not diminishing returns, it is just the way the game communicates the "speed-up". If a certain project requires 16 "man-days" to complete, and the default (zero-engineers, just Lily) is to produce 2 man-days* of work per day, then placing one engineer on the pr...

Re: Engineers level / efficiency

I noticed some engineers provide bigger time reduction bonii for construction, room cleaning tasks. 1. Is there a way to see an engineer rank and or efficiency bonus? 2. Do they also provide varying bonii to staffing workshops, comms or power relay? If it makes sense, each engineer contributes the ...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?

A thought occurred to me- does grenade environment damage change with frags -> plasmas? I had expected so, but never technically checked. Frag and plasma grenades have the same environmental damage. You can learn this in game by looking at the tooltip of plasma grenades when you finish researching ...

SPARK Builds

[A side note- can we sticky the class build threads? They're quite useful and I keep having to search for them] What are people's thoughts for builds on the SPARKs? I almost feel like Bulwark is just so good you have to take it every time. I currently have a high-aim SPARK build for Overwatch, which...

Re: Weirdly Low Income

One final note- I read recently that apparently officers and Psi Operatives have significant bonuses to Faceless discovery. Do you have any idea how powerful those are? The table is in XomLW_Activities.ini [LW_Overhaul.X2LWActivityDetectionCalc_Rendezvous] Unfortunately, the required mission income...

Re: Wet Work Balance

The xp percentage should be on all XP earned and not just kill XP. I'm pretty much certain you're wrong here. According to the ini file: NumKillsBonus = 0.33f ; WetWork KillXpBonusMult = 0.33f So I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way? I mean if it did hell yes, +33% experience to my soldiers any...

ADVENT reacting to concealed movements?

So I know that LW2 supposedly fixed the bug where ADVENT would guard the objective even when you weren't revealed. However, I'm in a mission where ADVENT seems to be reacting to my concealed movements- when I start the mission, if I move straight ahead into cover the alien pod I discover moves to th...

Re: Wet Work Balance

Mathematically, the amount of killing you'd have to do to get Wet Work to be efficient is... astronomical. In order to replicate the effects of your average stealth mission- 2 man, with Extremely Light resistance- you'd have to have that one soldier kill 128 enemies... (calculated by (6+9)/2 * 5.7 *...

Re: Weirdly Low Income

I'm not being snippy, it's in your head. Also, Haven advisers don't start accumulating points towards detecting spies until a day after you station them at the Haven, so you lose a day every time you swap advisers; Untrue, haven advisers accumulate points immediately. You're thinking about rebels w...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?

And Sapper only works on half of the stuff the aliens use for cover. Wait, what? Are that many structures unaffected by Sapper? To be honest, that would explain some things I've seen, like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=881147906 I shot a plasma grenade at that officer,...

I guess this is possible? But I'm nigh-certain that the entire Haven was on supplies all month. Go back and redo it. I'm nigh-certain the spike you experienced has to do with the new month calculation of your projected supplies. There is no other hidden factor involved like suddenly faceless appear...

Save Games Seed is Different

I'm not entirely certain if this is classified as a bug, but it's definitely unintended mechanics. Supposedly LW2 is seeded- if you take the same actions in the same order you'll get the same result, to prevent save scumming indefinitely. However, there is one oddity to this- when you save a game, i...

Re: Walk out of suppression, no reaction shot, but still "Suppressed" aim penalty?

I had a SPARK suppressed by an ADVENT MEC. I made someone else (a Gunner, I think) suppress the ADVENT MEC. That didn't actually stop the suppression animation/sfx, but I was able to walk my SPARK away from the suppressed spot without receiving a reaction shot from the MEC. Bizarrely, though, when ...

[Suggestion/Request] Restart Reloads the Map?

I'm playing Bronzeman right now (Ironman but you can restart missions). There's a problem, though- when you restart a mission you play it with the exact same seed and map, so although I don't want an unfair advantage from restarting I get it anyway. Is there any way to change things so that the &quo...

Re: Is something broken with my reinforcements?

With appropriate savegames, you might want to back up and restart to avoid the silliness. I use the mod Tkyl's Save Scum to reroll the RNG seed so when I need to reload to fix problems, I can change things if needed. Do you know if this works with the Restart Mission button? The reason I ask is bec...
