Re: Concussion Rocket: Badass or Bugged?
They gain no defense unless they survive the turn. They don't survive the turn.

Re: what do the mission objectives mean?
When a mission popups we see the objectives: "Hack thing" + "Find a Lead" OK, I know that the lead is to liberation process. But there are anothers like "Get advent atention", what does it mean? why should I want to get advent atention? And there are much more, most of...

Re: Overwatch Chip as PCS vs Attachment
It should just be a setting on the soldier, not a bandaid taking up a resource slot. Edit: Wait, what? Scopes? The attachment that makes you actually hit the target? What in the world could be more important? I wouldn't give up my Scopes for anything. From my experience, the range penalty on shotgu...

Re: An alternative way of handling infiltration and mission types
Have you run stealth since 1.2 dropped? I'm finding ADVENT grew a brain and left a few guards at important things like the super secret prototypes without which they can't field upgraded troops. That fits with xwynns comment that objectives were supposed to have guards sometimes but he never saw any...

Re: Feedback: The separate rolls for Dodge and Crit make the game a terrible mess
I agree. The game makes one roll. All factors have been mapped to the 1-100 outcome in advance. Perfect Information just doesn't break it down properly, but that's PI's fault. If you have a displayed 73% to hit, then you have a 63% chance of doing at least 3 damage. You also have an 83% chance of do...

Concussion Rocket: Badass or Bugged?
So, here we are, two patches in and the Concussion Rocket still obliterates terrain like nobodies' business. I've also just noticed that it does not grant smoke cover to its victims until the next turn. Now, I consider it basically the only reason rocketeers are viable long term, so I'm curous: Is i...

Re: Suggestion: new class, the Gunslinger
Haven't read the whole thread but it was exactly what I wanted to say too. I hope Pavonis is reading this. I just started playing XCOM 2 again, and I haven't played Long War 2 yet, and I seriously question how soon I will do that now that I've found out there are no gunslingers in the game. I think...

Re: Suggestion: new class, the Gunslinger
I wouldn't like bot scenario. Giving fire to every enemy, or giving an almost KO to a sectopod with a pistol xcom is unrealistic. Every class has its deal. Gunslinger should be made to handle different situations, like groups of -weak- enemies. A skill like "fire at every enemy in sight who ha...

Re: Suggestion: new class, the Gunslinger
Pistols with special ammo were insane in vanilla. :) Light every enemy in sight on fire? Tear through half a Sectopod with one soldier? Yep, pistols did that. I kinda figure that's why Sharpshooters lost the whole right side of their original tree. :) I do think a balanced Gunslinger would be fun th...

Re: Yellow Alert Offensive Action
Huh? In OG XCOM all enemies would start active, and they would often decimate your squads. But that didn't matter because it was acceptable and expected to lose entire squads routinely. You can beat the game with rookies if you have the right equipment. JohnnyLump always goes back to OG for inspira...

Re: Technical Love
I think the issue is that fire is too strong in LW2. Therefore they made the fire-using class really unreliable to keep it balanced. As is, flamer Techs are very RNG to use. But if they were consistent they'd be OP because they'd be the one and only correct way to activate the main pod. Imagine what...

Re: Havens Am I Micromanaging
Currently, I know I have at least one faceless in one of my four liberated regions, but replacing my engineer advisors with soldiers will likely cost me more in supplies than just letting him steal things.... Yeah, you just have to live with the fact that sometimes faceless will impact your resourc...

Re: Yellow Alert Offensive Action
Yellow Alert is a simulation of activated enemies. In OG XCOM once you started making noise any enemy on the map could just walk up and shoot you at any time. The pod mechanics makes this impossible as a unit is either active, or not. Yellow Alert (Itchy Trigger Tentacle) simulates an off-screen ene...

Re: Are there benefits to over-infiltrating Regional HQ?
Hi Trihero, that's what I originally thought, but if that's true the below statement is confusing. If we can reduce enemies by 5 - 7 from over-infiltrating, but Advent strength increases will add enemies... how would we end up with a harder mission? 5 - 7 is a big reduction, so I would think maybe ...

Re: Graze Band Strategy?
Wait, how does Graze get better the lower to hit is? It's +-10, regardless of aim. An alien with 30 to hit grazes on a 40. A rookie with 65 to hit grazes on a 75. I do agree though that with a massive graze band armor stacking is the thing to do. Because you start to cut into the 0% bound. You lose...

Re: Suggested fix to supply raid, troop column, HQ 0% infiltration abuse
Personally I run Intel heavy and can usually find ambushes with 5-6 days on them and just Intel boost to get a larger squad into them. Not 10, but 7-8, sure.
Reflex actions for pods are 0/25/33/33% by difficulty.

Re: Must-have Soldier Perks
I think the strength of Failsafe is that it lets you hack for the hell of it. No consequences, lemme see if I can 28% control that bot. No? Oh well, blow it away, no stat bonuses. Maybe I can pull some Intel out of that lamp. I sure can't trigger reinforcements. I think it's well placed against Fiel...

Re: Are there benefits to over-infiltrating Regional HQ?
strength = quantity of units, not quality quality goes up over time on a regular basis, nothing to do with strength (there are a couple types of missions which adjust quality level up or down a little bit, but it's not related to advent strength) Hi Trihero, that's what I originally thought, but if...

I like autoloaders and scopes for Rangers, Assaults get first dibs on the laser sights, expanded mags and hair triggers go to Gunners, Sharpshooters get the stocks.
Overall scopes are the best, IMO.

Re: Haven Advisor Soldiers
I meant the ADVENT corpses, which are worth alloy or supplies, and the loot drops they all tend to carry. The rockets and flamer will easily destroy those. I did have a Tech as an advisor on my first campaign, and she was basically another rookie on Rendezvous because otherwise I was throwing away f...
