Re: Anyway to avoid cheating mods?

Ok, so I have to read every mod and not just install 50 at the time. Got cha! Oh, judge away! I am swedish and we are allowed to have wierd thinking! I would simply say "install what you like the sounds of, and if it turns out to be too OP, remove it again." The "Remove Missing Mods&...

100% to hit in the face and a graze- sure! You are aware, I assume, that you can turn off the graze mechanic in the options, right? If it bothers you that much, just set the graze band down to 0 and you'll never graze again. Just be aware that the ayys' shots are subject to graze mechanics, too, an...

Re: (Sharpshooter balancing) Death From Above / Rapid Targeting / Snap Shot

Personally, I don't have any problem with a sniper taking out one enemy per turn from across the map. That's what snipers do. I remember snipers from XCOM1 who had inverted range penalties, so not only were they reliably taking out enemies from across the map, but they usually had 100% hit 100% crit...

Re: Any workaround for incorrect rnf schedules in 1.4?

Are there any INI edits we can make to fix the bad rnfs on haven defense and other missions? There are actually two bugs with the RNF schedules on some missions, as discussed in the thread linked below. Not only are the RNFs using the wrong schedule, but they're starting further along the schedule ...

Re: XCOM 2 crashes unless Long War 2 is enabled

I played several missions in a LW2 campaign and wished to disable it to start a new save file. However, if LW2 is not enabled in my mod list, the game crashes on start-up; I don't even reach the loading screen before the title screen. Instead of the typical "XCOM 2 has stopped working, Windows...

1.5 looks amazing! I'd be happy if half works :p. Any update when we can get our.....paws, on it? :D My latest 1.4 campaign was going so well just out of the gate. Then suddenly, half my rookies get killed in just three missions! I thought it was some sort of bug, so I was coming to complain, but n...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I hate to say it, but I'm really leaning toward just sticking with lw2 and skipping the expansion altogether. Even if they aren't compatible at the expansion's launch, I'm reasonably certain they will be made compatible eventually. Might be a year or so later (like with LW2's official launch roughl...

Re: Pure virtual function being called GLSrunning===1

However, I remember having this bug even when I used to play the vanilla game with no mod at all...weird... someone says it's related to the red fog in the menu during a mission and that you have to toggle it on - toggle it off to solve it at least temporarily I'm sorry, toggle WHAT on and off? The...

Re: Is having Reinforcements during Concealment a bug or intended?

I'm cool with reinforcements dropping during concealment. Not so cool with those reinforcements magically knowing my squad's location and coming right at me, if I haven't been spotted by anything yet. I get that the point of these missions is to move fast and so I'll probably have been spotted by so...

Re: Walking through solid things, easy to fix?

Agreed. This isn't something Pavonis (or any modder) can fix. I can only assume Firaxis is aware of the issue and decided it wasn't worth fixing. It happens WAY TOO OFTEN for any half-way competent QA to have missed it. Speaking as a half-way competent QA myself, however, I'm painfully familiar with...

What are other peoples' experiences with this? What's the deal-breaker for you? Or if you don't have one, what's your frame of mind to help let yourself continue to enjoy the game even when you run into problems? My response to these questions varies for official game devs (like Firaxis) versus mod...

Re: Massive cover bug in 1.4?

The only people who NEED to be aware of a bug are the devs, really.
If I, as a fellow player, am not already aware of this bug for having run into it, then clearly it isn't a problem for me.

Re: QoL wishlist based on 1.4

-- FIX the "Under-Avenger-Camera" bug. Ironically, seeing this bug appearing for many after prolongued playing and not occurring to me even once, as I often only manage to do two tactical missions tops and the strategy in between, one could argue it's the game's way to tell you: Get a liv...

Lesson learned - ALWAYS try to isolate the mod that's causing a particular bug. After all, if the buggy behaviour were something you might expect, then it wouldn't be a bug ;)

We will have a manual-type download available on the Nexus, but I'm going to wait to put that up because it takes a while, and I have to go feed my kids now. Wow, your kids have to wait until the next patch is out before they can eat dinner?! And I thought WE were impatient to see this thing releas...

And then I wonder if it came out today, would they say... "soon there will be 1.4 that is 10x bigger and better!" I would just have to keep waiting on that. Betcher bottom dollar they will. LW2 is not a "finished product." It's still very much in development, and probably will b...

Re: Why can't we carry alien corpses?

I use Extract Corpses with LW2 and it works fine. I find it promotes "push your luck" type playing where you can either focus fully on the objective, or you can send your shinobi back a bit to pick up that corpse you need and hope that little detour doesn't cost you the mission (or a sold...

Without going into any kind of detailed analysis (as I haven't been playing the game long enough) - I do think you're on to something here. I like the idea of specific missions to counter the Avatar project - I think that would help clarify what I'm actually doing, strategically. As it stands, I thi...

Re: What is the idea behind Crit Rangers?

The most important factor though is how your individual builds work in th squad composition. A CRIT ranger gains a lot of power when coupled with holo-target sharpshooter builds for example largely resolving any low critical chance as the game progresses. +1 for this. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Radio Relays ... And I also like the narritive aspect of it. I remember having the thought before, if we're taking down a broadcast tower, why can't we use it afterwards? Because it's an ADVENT radio tower, which means they already know where it's located - and that's presumably somewhere they've a...
