XCOM2 ain't PI's property, they can't benefit from work done on it unless the money comes from Firaxis. If anything you can support their next project, Terra Invicta. Sadly that one won't have a squad based tactical layer, so if you're into that maybe you can look forward to Phoenix Point.

My usual strategy is to forego the pull and snipe tactics and bumrush the ground enemy troops using consumables and cooldowns early, on multiple pod activations. If you got a ton of rebels on intel and actively scanning with Avenger you might luck out and catch it with a 4d timer, so you can infiltrate with 5 after boost. Just be advised that in Legendary you'll get mowed down by any pod walking into you, with all of them getting yellow alert shots, if you heavily under-infiltrate a mission. You're bound to lose any soldier caught behind half cover against enemies with 75+ aim, like the T1 Mutons, or even T1 Gunners ...

I fail to see your point about why you're taking Electroshock over Lightning Reflexes. What contributes more to the team effort, a soldier that can disorient a single target (if it misses) or one that can dispel overwatches for the whole team, FOR FREE, allowing it to take better positions?

I don't know how you can play 1.5 without Lightning Reflexes. Overwatches are eeeeeverywhere and even if you only have 1 overwatch to get rid of, you want the assault to keep on the move. Does April 4th count? I just rescued the 2nd scientist (engineer, scientist, scientist). I'm looking for missions on the 1st and 2nd region tho, but picking the ones on the 2nd region very carefully to not bloat it with vigilance.

Thing is, the only bad rewards are the soldiers. If you get plenty engineers, you dig faster and with those supplies you buy the scientists. That's what the Black Market is there for. If you get Engineers, you use the excavation supplies (and other sources) to buy Scientists. Usually I'd start the GTS on day 1, a rescue for Engineer happens, engineer excavates for ~$45 and either with S&G supplies or selling loot and trooper corpses ...
