The squad thing was a nice idea but frankly I ignore it. I choose soldiers based on who's available and the mission type. Officers are great but not for squad bonuses. The perks can be quite powerful. Command, Oscar Mike, Incoming are all great - and available early. Cham suits are like suppressors....

Meant this as PSA. It's easy provided you realise you don't have infinite time. If the rnfs start dropping before you get the vial it could easily be campaign ending, as it nearly was for me.

Strength is kind of irrelevant for the big missions. Each point is like 2 extra enemies. When there are 35+ as standard on an HQ or golden path mission, what's another 2?

Sounds right. You won't get top tier everything. And it's definitely not worth drawing things out to get all plasma or every T3 secondary. I don't know if it's intentional but it does seem to be consistent. The suppressor won't get reaction shots against you but that also means you can't break the suppression by moving.

I have come to really love combat awareness PCS on gunners. Advent are forced to shoot at someone else or take really bad shots to try and remove the suppression.
