Re: How important is it to build Proving Ground and Skulljack?

I would wait on skulljacking an officer anyway. Once you do then Codexes can start appearing in pods, and they are the worst.

Re: Sapper/needle grenades, heat/tandem, combat engineer/full kit

Support grenadiers are WAY better than frag grenadiers. Rapid deployment allows you to simultaneously smoke and flash. Blue screen lets you take mecs out of the picture and make them easier to hack. Sting grenades have saved my ass so many times over. I exclusively use support grenadiers over damage...

Re: [suggestion] Intel-based ability for Specialist

I like this idea, but the cost would need to be higher. Some of the hack rewards are significant. Like getting free haven rebels, or permanent hacking stat upgrade. In addition, taking control over a mechanical unit can turn the tide of a tough battle very quickly. I would say it would need to be so...

Re: SPARKS worth it?

I recommend using them on some easy missions (150 to 200% infil) to get them a level or two first. On missions where you have no timer, just keep them in the back for some supportive overwatch or something until they get a few levels. SPARKS are kind of crap at low level, but if they get some experi...

Your work on LW2 has guaranteed my cash when the kickstarter comes out.

You guys have made an exceptional mod which got me back into XCOM 2 for the long haul. While mods like a better ADVENT were helping, the base game still felt stale after playing through it so often. LW2 feels unique and feels like you really are leading a worldwide resistance movement. You guys have...

Re: Dark Events

Tying the Dark Event to it's own facility, or to an avatar facility sounds like a fantastic idea. You could even do something like supply raids disable the TDE for a few weeks or a month, but the enemies on those missions would be a tad bit stronger than standard supply raids. I have stated before I...

Re: LW2 v1.1 Hacking and advent towers

Haywire should just boost the hack defense on a fail instead of boosting stats. Failsafe is nice. There should be other ways to increase hacking. I love the idea, but as stated, I almost never try for a hack unless its 80% or better odds. I never try for a tower hack while concealed, even though in ...

Re: Had to restart...Glad I did.

Yeah, I quit when the average ADVENT grunt had something like 15 HP. The commanders would have 19. Muton elites showed up with 25 HP, Armor, and a personal shield. My guys still had predator armor. I may have gotten screwed early on by not having enough scientists or resources to get research done f...

Re: Had to restart...Glad I did.

I am aware that you can counter them before they are enacted, but it would be nice to have a small chance to find a mission to counter them afterward too. As it stands, ADVENT can snowball out of control depending on RNG. That's all I am saying. Perhaps capturing a regional HQ could also counter any...

Had to restart...Glad I did.

So my last campaign got overwhelmed by tactical dark events to the point the average ADVENT recruit had better stats that my guys... Time to hang it up. So I restarted and this time decided to try something different. I build the GTS per usual, and went ahead and bought both the engineer and scienti...

Re: Advent invasion of liberated area bug?

Yeah I reloaded my save and had it load a fresh level and my starting position wasn't near as craptastic. I realized this time there are tons of miscellaneous civies on the map. I was about to rescue 6 of 9 rebels and I lost my spark and my assault. Mission is doable but it relies heavily on RNG fro...

Advent invasion of liberated area bug?

I was wondering if this was a bug, but during the aliens turn they seem to have no limit on how many rebels they can attack. Normally I thought they were limited to one kill per turn, but they are doing several. The rebels are on the other side of the map and I have no way to get to them. I saved on...

How do you know when your campaign is done?

So far I have 8 regions contacted, and 1 liberated. I just finished advanced mag tech and have plate armor. I have three low level psi soldiers trained up. I also have enough mag or laser weapons to equip about 15 to 20 total guys. I am in October Avatar progress bar is about 60% full, but I have th...

Re: Who to Train for Pistols

I almost never use assaults at all (I have I think two in my whole army.) but if I did, I would probably give them pistol abilities. I give pistol abilities to my sharpshooters if the first ability is something good. Mostly though I max out pistol abilities on stealth Shinobis. Shinobi stealth abili...

Re: Long War 2 Tech Tree

I get laser weapons for a couple reasons. The main reason is the accuracy boost. The second reason is their cost is cheaper than mag weapons. I have a small stockpile of laser weapons, just in case I have several infiltrations going on at once. So if I run out of mag weapons I can always stick a las...

Re: Additional Rockets/Fuel for the Technical?

I put an EXO suit on a technical as well as the second tier gauntlet and I was able to put a spare rocket on him. I am not sure if it was the suit or the gauntlet that allowed that though. I literally just got that setup and they are infiltrating now.

Adjusting SPARK costs?

Is there a way to adjust the SPARK build costs? The free one you get after doing the DLC got destroyed by a lucky advent stunlancer hit *ugh* The way they are currently priced in Veteran makes them completely useless as the money could be spent elsewhere more efficiently. Is there a way to adjust th...

Using snipers effectively.

I have seen several people complain about the sharpshooter being underpowered and I respectfully disagree. Early game they are definitely hard to use as most missions are infiltration missions. However, there are a few things to take note of. If you infiltrate and then finish a mission without killi...

Re: I don't like timers maybe idk

I play on veteran, and I found bumping the timers up by 5 gives enough breathing room to try strategies other than "double move and hope for the best" and still keeping you on the clock to prevent just overwatch creeping. I love having the time to use suppression to lock down a group while...

Assassinate or capture the enemy VIP?

In the vanilla game you would get the regular reward for completing the VIP mission, but you would get some extra intel if you captured the VIP. The mission rewards screen in LW2 isn't as direct? What is the difference between capturing or killing the VIP? So far I have been capturing them, but seve...

Long war options?

Hi, In the long war options I only see the "Pause Recruit" and the dodge gradient, is there something missing or is that it? I just want to make sure my install isnt bugged. In addition, is there an easy way to add 1 or 2 turns to the mission timers? I never really liked that from the base...
