Re: Do anybody else think the retraining time is too high?
I dislike the mechanic and think your choices should have permanent consequences. No chance I'm going to lower it in our release versions, but mod to your heart's content. I wish the re-training time was told to the player in the popup, before choosing. It's always nice to know the price before pur...

Re: Early missions with short timers, a failing strategy
With respect, it doesn't seem that way - just before I posted I did a mission where I didn't fire a shot and 5 rookies got squadie levels from the plane ride. Although it has only been one time I have been absolutly sure i have not killed anything, but for sure I didn't make any kills on that missi...

Re: "Protect Data tap" missions seem unbalanced
The other thing to bear in mind with data tap missions is the aliens are pretty single minded in their pursuit of their objective (destroying the data tap). When you do get a mission with rough spawn locations, or too many pods attacking the data tap, just sacrificing it and running away with your l...

Re: An alternative way of handling infiltration and mission types
At the moment, (especially at the beginning) almost *every* mission is a stealth mission, a) because it is not only possible, but preferable to do it the stealthy way, and b) because a large chunk of missions is only detected with so few days left that stealth is your only option. So, to no small d...

Re: Feedback from no <50% infil campaign
I had 9 scientists in August (one of whom I purchased in April). I'm afraid I didn't write down when I got them, but I think I had 5 at the start of June? I also did Basic Research as my second research project. I did have a power coil on the 3rd floor which helped. Whoa. 9 scientists in August sou...

Re: Early missions with short timers, a failing strategy
I know LW2 is mostly focused on mission XP than kill XP. I just didn't know you get that mission XP even if you completely failed the mission.... Seems a tad silly to me. A bunch of rookies took a short plane ride and then they all leveled up. You have to actually kill a reasonable number of enemie...

Re: Feedback from no <50% infil campaign
An AS 10 HQ raid is no joke. I did one at AS 9 and ended up chain pulling (not by choice) 3 or 4 groups at the starting position. Ending tally was 50 Advent and I only took one injury, but it was very dicey for a while. I didn't do mine by choice. It was str 7 when I started infiltrating, but had j...

Re: Value of stealth?
It's safe and reliable, check out xwynns videos and then ask questions if we can help further. Well, here's a big one: What is the penalty for killing a Dark VIP compared to taking it alive? I know in the vanilla game, you lost all of the Intel reward, which here is potentially the entire reward. A...

Re: Viability of delayed Liberation
Ok so I've done several Liberation rushes by now, most of them successful, but one thing in common with all of them is that the first liberated region will spike in vigilance because of all the missions, resulting in a severe increase of ADVENT strenght, resulting in the region's Haven requiring mo...

Re: Rapid Response Overtuned?
Yep, Rapid Response means reinforcements starting at I believe 3 turns after reveal and then roughly every 2 (sometimes 3) turns after that. It's active on my campaign now too. Might as well just take the whole month off to either do troop columns and/or stealth only missions. Regarding the Network...

Re: Feedback from no <50% infil campaign
Nice timing. I'm particularly impressed by those July coils :o I got mine early September and didn't research a lot of datapads or useless autopsies. How many scientists did you gain/purchase and how early? Did you have an early elerium coil for the lab? (both of mine were on 4th floor) I had 9 sci...

Nope: Coil: dead shot: 10 Aggression: 30 Elite laser: 15 Elite stock 25 Talon: 10 Depth perception: 25 Precision: 30 Negative dodge is positive crit. Re: Campaign Feedback: Prices/Abilities/strategic layer
DFA sharpshooter will be rocking roughly 100%* crit before precision shot(and then you can precise on higher dodge targets) against targets in cover. Killing things isn't an issue for sharpshooters. That doesn't mean you bring only sharpshooters but it does mean that when you want something to die ...

Re: Rapid Response Overtuned?
Would love to, but had no way past the patrols >.< Trying to do a Network Tower without a Shinobi with Covert and Ghostwalker is always going to be a dice roll with regards to pod placement/patrol routes. You have 3 (or 4?) turns after breaking concealment to get to the console, which I've always f...

Re: Officer Strategy
I just saw xwynns LW2 Legend #48 video ("Wounds & Stories") where he does what is labeled by the UFOpaedia page for Missions (LW2) a Haven Defend mission, which has the Countdown Exit, as does the Recruit Raid mission. Does Air Controller affect that timer? No, it doesn't. Air Control...

And for network tower, use a shinobi to hit the objective before you lose concealment. That way to reinforcements at all. Re: Overwatch Creep and Pod Mechanics
I object to the idea of activating aliens period. I favor something like Final Fantasy Tactics, where everything is active from the start of the match. Sure, you could just sit on overwatch and make them come into range first, but the aliens could do the same thing. And perhaps, these stalemates wi...

Re: Overwatch Creep and Pod Mechanics
Meld and timers are just the band-aid to this, so the question is what solves the problem? Well, when I first saw the Haven Defense mission for Long War 2, I loved it. Enemies are streaming at you in constant waves. There are no pods to activate. Even if they're not in visual range of you, you know...

Feedback from no <50% infil campaign
My current game is reaching the point where I’m so far ahead of the aliens that I feel like I’m in victory lap mode, and finishing Golden Path missions is a formality. I should probably go ahead and finish the game, but the temptation to restart is rising (and I always like to start fresh when a pat...

Re: Datapad Intel Value
Datapads are around 25 I think? The value of researching them massively depends on your game state, and the strategy you're pursuing in the Geoscape. Sometimes I find myself swimming in intel, but I often find myself researching datapads when I need to expand quickly to hit priority targets (facilit...

Re: Issue with the Crit "Clamping" introduced in 1.2
So the patch notes say that negative dodge is transformed into extra crit chance. Is negative crit turned into additional dodge? Seems like it probably shouldn't be... It would be nice to have an indication of how it's meant to work, so we can see if it's bugged or WAD. Likewise, is dodge/crit over ...

Re: Must-have Soldier Perks
I really agree that class balance is actually really good. The more I play, the more I appreciate how well designed the current trees are, and the less I feel they should be changed. There are still a couple of perks which I feel are in the wrong place (Conceal should definitely be MSGT on a Shinobi...

Re: Suggested fix to supply raid, troop column, HQ 0% infiltration abuse
If you want some more feedback on this, for one thing it would to good to know what exactly the goal is. Is the goal to make 0% infiltration outright impossible? Twice as hard as currently? Do you want only say 5% of players to be able to do them well? What is the goal? Without knowing the goal, I ...
