That seems dumb. If their's no cover in the way why should it matter if the target is against cover for some other direction? I didn't know that, and it makes all the perks at this rank pretty bad for a dmg sniper IMO.

Yup, I myself just discovered this last night after using my firebug technical and his cloud of smoke saving him from death shortly afterwards. Now all my shinobis, specialists and assaults carry smoke... I always valued flashbangs over every other grenade type simply for instantly freeing my mind ...

Ah, no - I thought this was an unlockable class introduced by LW2. I finished vanilla Xcom2 twice before DLC was released so never bothered to get any.

The Bonus HP is really bad in my opinion, both as implementation and presentation. The actual Dark Event states something like "ADVENT have found better techniques to clone their troops." What actually happens is that any adversary will get +1 HP - including aliens, MECs and even turrets ...

I just started training, went on a mission and trained soulfire when returned since that was the only skill @ <20 days. Can't see any of the tree now, and I'm not sure if I can get either of the other 2 skill options next time - assumed it was like AWS.

Sounds like I should just not bother..

I have one of these missions also 5 turns of reinforcements on a light/extremely light with pods of 5 mobs. Is this as designed or a bug? So are you guys able to target adjacent targets around cover? Like, I am on the south face of a full cover and flanking someone on the west face of the same cover. You either need to complete the lost tower mission or do the mechanised warfare research.
Not seen either of them yet. Lost tower, is that RNG dependent? What are the pre-reqs for mech warfare?

I had to completely restart my only HQ mission and reroll the pods. First attempt had 2 sectoid controllers (first time I saw them in the campaign) which was completely hopeless. Hacking stunned MECs leaves them stunned

Hacking a MEC stunned with a flashbang from a support grenadier leaves the unit controllable and movable, but it cannot shoot or use any of it's abilities. Something I only noticed when I jumped it into a pod ready to use the micro missles. quite annoying, hope it can be fixed.

Yes I have the same issue. Not a big deal, and maybe it's intentional - devs? Certainly makes finding everyone a challenge, and I've gotten in quite sticky situations running around looking for people.

Tactical DEs are permanent - they represent the aliens making technological advances to improve their troops. What? :shock: I'm getting berserkers, muton centurions and heavy mecs... they're hard enough as an escalation of enemy toughness as it is... they don't need +2hp. Crapola. :) Didn't see any...

I sent 2 assaults since I rely on shinobi+1-2assaults on all my harder missions... sounds like they're not too useful for this HQ then? (I can easily reload and choose a different team makeup)
