Re: Undocumented 1.3 Changes?
Ah, I appreciate the updated tech tree, but it's really hard on my eyes and I can't tell the difference between 1.2 numbers and 1.3 numbers only from that chart though - are there any other outstanding changes like the alloy plating change? Also I remember xwynns briefly mentioning that cham suits r...

Rookie availability of sword upgrades?
I know this may not be an issue for those legend-only players, but I've noticed by August 3rd in my Rookie playthrough that I have a total of...zero stun lancer corpses. What's strange is that the devs were generous enough to stick a stun lancer in every rainbow pod already, but I'm still lacking SL...

Re: v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
Why would they allow classes to have both sentinel/rapid reaction with CUP, but no CUP with danger zone? I don't see the logic.

Undocumented 1.3 Changes?
Thanks for the 1.3 release. One undocumented change (I consider documented as the list that the dev put here http://www.pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=25047 ) is that alloy plating (the one you build out of trooper corpses) no longer have a supply cost, which makes them very ...

Re: v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
Lots of things can't be crit, or run through cover which negates crit, and even when gearing for CUP crits (and trust me I've tried this a lot with laser sights, talon ammos, etc etc etc) seems to hover around 40-60%, and you can't even guarantee they run the area suppression. At least with danger z...

Re: A little help with things I'm not understanding
Armour piercing rounds don't seem to work if the ammo isn't bypassed entirely. I keep finding myself shooting a armour 3/4 target with these bullets and still having 3/4 armour deducted from damage. Is this working correctly or is something going wrong? AP rounds work fine to me. They pierce 2 dama...

Re: v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
Anyway, yes I always struggle with CuP vs DZ for overwatch Gunners. I've taken both various times and I still can't decide on which is better. I generally favor CuP though, as I build all sorts of various specs and I'll typically take DZ on some low-aim utility gunners. This way I have both, and I ...

Re: v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
CuP + Danger Zone is wildly overpowered, to that point that it invalidates all other builds if you can combo them both imo. Being able to shoot with a heavy hitting gun, against 4+ things per turn, plus debuff, plus cancel overwatch, plus crit... plus comboing with Roust or even just a simple flank...

Re: LW2 - Grenadier - balance and ammo
On my current run I've been trying 2 styles of grenadiers - one frag based, one fire grenade based. The frag based one is going for cover destruction to support the team (sapper, volatile mix, tandem warheads, combat engineer), while the fire based one is going for a sniper-like feel (needle, bombar...

Re: v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
@davibones, my suggestion doesn't affect your playstyle at all. You can still pick between tanky OW vs suppression OW. I'm not sure why you disagree? Do you feel having both CUP and danger zone is overpowered?

Ever Vigilant Bugged? Not sure
Apologies if this has been mentioned/looked into before, but it feels pretty bad when Ever Vigilant is broken by -opening doors -using a free reload, and even basic reloading -picking up items on the floor I mean I guess the skill does what it says it does, like if you literally do anything other th...

Retal/Mini Retal Spacing?
I'm playing through (quickly) on Rookie mode to get a feel of 1.3, and I'm aware of the following change by the patch notes - Retaliations (and mini-retals) will occur according to a different mechanism: every day you have a rebel on a job, the rebel has a chance to be detected by ADVENT. That chanc...

v1.3 Gunner Skill Balance
In my current playthrough, I have a couple gunners I've been trying out overwatch style and I noticed at Tech Sergeant the choices are Cyclic Fire - Danger Zone - Cool Under Pressure It feels wrong to me that you have 2 overwatch perks at this tier. I always pick Danger Zone for an overwatch gunner ...

Specialist Airdrop Bug still present 3 months later
I reported this bug back in February: http://www.pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=24763&p=33429&hilit=airdrop#p33429 It is still around in v 1.3. The bug: If you airdrop (specialist skill that awards 1 grenade) a grenadier who has 4 empty inventory slots, the grenadier ...

No, he never said to spend all your money. Purely based on what he said if you have negative income, you don't lose money, but you do if you have some stored up (not just "no net income"), hence why you have to spend all your money before the supply drop if you don't want to get dinged.

Re: [Feedback] 1.2 Perk Tree: Tier balance (Wall of Text Warning)
I'm saying this half-serious : are we going to see a nerf to hunker down? Those hunker down tanks OP ; p That's the issue when you start to nerf something in the name of balance, something else will invariably end up being OP compared to the other options and you'll have to also nerf it until every...

An extra grenade (ordnance) can also save you a lot of resources if it's used on something special like incendiary.

Re: Questionable Perks
Phosphorus would be an OK perk for a flame-focused technical if it would additionally make so your flamethrower can bypass armor. I second this. Usually robots (on legendary) have 3 armor, so phosphorus is just tickling them. Bypassing armor in general would be worthy of a perk, and not overpowered.

Re: LW2 Strategic Layer: Managing Strength and Vigilance
Can you please elaborate on why intel retals are easy/good for you? RETALIATIONS ARE GOOD. Intel mini-retals are quite easy, keep your rebels still on overwatch to make sure they don't pull anything and move your main team aggressively in the first turns to clear flanks of potential yellow alert pod...

Re: Usefulness of Plasma Grenades/Medics
Oh yeah, one thing I've been realizing recently is how good exo suits are. If you watch people like xwynns or joinrbs you just get sucked into "build predator/warden" all the time but exos are a little cray cray, allowing you to outright win situations you otherwise wouldn't be able to. It...

Re: SPARK Builds
Rainmaker is insanely good!! Extra radius means you can easily catch 8 enemies with it, and the +2 damage is noticeable. It turns your shredder gun into an "I win" button. I agree iron skin is maybe a little lackluster, but on the other hand shredder isn't that necessary either if your tea...

Re: Biggest hit, can anyone do better than 82
So then coup de grace (with cut throat) is the winner of this thread on a full hp archon king (I think the last one I fought had 96 hp with 5 armor or something). Maybe could even squeeze in a bit more damage with holotargeter's damage bonus and someone who ruptures the archon king with a weak weapo...

Re: Usefulness of Plasma Grenades/Medics
Plasma grenades are good because more damage is good, you apply more red fog, you get things closer to death for your other guys to finish off, etc. You are unlikely to kill bodies with plasma grenades both because hp scales much faster than the upgrade to damage does (i.e. it is quite within the re...

Re: [Feedback] 1.2 Perk Tree: Tier balance (Wall of Text Warning)
Most of the feedback I agree with, but you're just completely off the mark about offensive grenadiers. They are fine, they are great. I use them a lot. Boosted cores helps incendiary grenade quite a bit (it double dips in both the main damage, and also boosts the dot damage; so does biggest booms, s...
