Re: Ambushes and Supply Raids kicking my a**

A 25% shot is still a 25% for a full hit and you still have the basic 10% graze band (unless you changed the number in options). I change it to zero, forgot to mention I hate the graze band, so I suppose grazing fire is more valuable in this circumstance. I'm not even sure what you mean if I kept t...

Re: Holy smokes, that first tower mission?!!!

Medkit grants fire immunity now?!? Don't quote me on that - it's entirely possible that I'm wrong and I think I might be, looking at something else - but healing a soldier extinguishes the burning status even if they're at max health. So that's still useful to have. Burning is basically the most da...

Re: Continent bonuses: which are underpowered?

Quid Pro Quo. maybe you have some black market buying strategy that will pay itself off compared to the cost of a Radio Tower and the lost opportunity on a better supply bonus, but seems weak to me so far. Even with RM's mod for increased supply opportunities from missions and the standard LW2 opti...

Re: Holy smokes, that first tower mission?!!!

The weird thing is, i saw no way through for my shinobi, on that first room. Only way i could see would be to break stealth by smashing windows. Are you sure the game wasn't also trying to get you to kick through doors? Remember that opening doors carefully (move up next to them and interact - whic...

Re: LW2 Perk Trees and Descriptions

Alpha Mike Foxtrot is +4.
Shredder is any primary weapon, not just cannon (can get it via AWC, I have a sharpshooter and tech with it).

I'd suggest splitting this into base/vanilla and LW2, given that LW2 also seems to tweak existing perks?

Re: Good PG Projects

Um, no, I would not. Not until they are high rank. Late game I'll take AP, sure, but at lower levels I want them landing hits. 5 aim will turn 1/20 non-100% shots from misses to hits, on average. 2 Armor pen guarantees one shot kills on many armored units. (and the units that your sharpshooters are...

Re: LW2 needs more "middle class" missions

I don't think you're necessarily wrong about there being more experience with more advanced alien species, but I thought the game is hard capped at one promotion per mission even if you have enough experience for multiple ones. Are you saying you got multiple promotions after one fight? Yes, the po...

Re: Continent bonuses: which are underpowered?

I might just try to use the mod I've used in the past (choose continent bonus) where you set up a vector in the config file of the bonuses you want. I don't want the variance of not having armed to the teeth, even as hard as they tried to smooth it out by giving everything baseline 3 slots, that 4t...

Re: LW2 needs more "middle class" missions

I've always thought mission experience should be a function of type of alien, not just number, that would let your laggers in the late game catch up quicker. I mean if you're infiltrating or killing elite mutons and sectopods, that should count more than 4 hp troopers. I would be very surprised if ...

Re: Question about % hit mechanics (Overwatch, % shot and perfect information).

In theory, yes. But if you stack up enough debuffs like that and it shouldn't be too hard -- poison is really strong. I gasbombed an ADVENT squad once and I'm pretty sure some of them actually had negative to-hit chances showing on their flyovers.

Re: Continent bonuses: which are underpowered?

Btw: is there a place in the LW2 ini files to specify which continent bonuses you want? I have some other mod that can do that with vanilla but I'm afraid of how it might interact with LW2, especially since LW2 adds new continent bonuses like "Wired In." As far as I can see, no. There isn...

Re: Good PG Projects

Also tracer rounds aren't good. 5 aim for a slot is bad. You could put smoke or a grenade there. Or AP rounds or literally nothing and gain the mobility. Wot? 5 aim is 5 aim, and aim is hard to come by. You could still have a smoke or grenade in another slot, it's not like the ammo slot is a yes/no...

Fleche gives bonus damage based on the distance moved as part of the attack, I believe +1 every 4 tiles by default. Yes and OP is saying that movement that is not part of the attack is causing strange behaviour. If you move towards the target and then fleche, you should not be doing more damage tha...

Re: Good PG Projects

Something i haven't seen mentioned are tactical vests. The +4 health/+1 armor isn't horrible and easily compensates the lack of armor on an exo suit. This allows you to trade a grenade for the much better shredder gun without sacrificing your survivability. Obviously not for mass production but i f...

Re: Good PG Projects

Shouldn't Venom's poison grant a small DoT effect too? Judging by gas bombs though it's probably only 1pt, whereas I think Dragon can be 2-3 if you're lucky? Edit: tested, you're right, stiletto doesn't work on advent. Guess they're not aliens? I took a conventional smg with stiletto rounds and ran ...

Re: Ambushes and Supply Raids kicking my a**

I feel generally a bit unsure how to play when multiple enemies are left alive at the end of my turn. If multiple enemies are alive and are not debuffed, whether by fire, disorient, stun, panic, or whatever, you're in a bad place. Remember that you will always be outnumbered, so those control effec...

Re: Opinion on Rocketeers

So, ultimately the scarcity of rockets likely stems from the fact that all technicals have flamethrower charges, even if those are not always reliably useful unless focused on. In light of this it simply seems like the technical gauntlet should have two slots that can hold fuel or a rocket intercha...

Re: Sword attack strength

Swords are fantastic on missions where the enemy drops squads every other turn, you just run back and forth building up Fleche damage and chopping heads. You really want to focus on all the sword perks, plus Shadow Strike and Conceal if you are going to do this. It's kinda like having Run and Gun e...

The PG projects imply as much; http://i.imgur.com/kG6yDzR.png vs http://i.imgur.com/8bQmsT3.png Stiletto rounds are slightly more expensive, but I'd wager you'll get access to them sooner thanks to RV missions dropping faceless corpses. If it works against both aliens and ADVENT that's great but it ...

Re: Good PG Projects

Anyone find all the ammo types useful? Some of them seems too situational - non-robot Advent only, biological aliens only, etc. It seems just the regular old AP or Poison ammo is most widely applicable. Stiletto (biological) is all right. Most enemies you fight are biological. Giving +2 biological ...

Re: LW2 needs more "middle class" missions

Inclined to agree. It also punishes attempts to bring rookie teams up to scratch late game, because they're facing enemy numbers and strengths that are way above their pay grades. I sent my beta team off to do a troop movement ambush in a lower-strength (3-4) region and they wound up killing the fir...

Just for comparison (I didn't get that far in my campaign yet): Has anyone found out how much the Psi abilities scale up with better psi amps? For example, the soulfire damage? I mean, I know the upgrades from one GREMLIN tier to another are pretty significant. UFOpedia doesn't say anything about t...

Re: Is it possible to request custom modifications of LW2 ?

I feel it's slightly better than the original implementation. Typically you'd shove your psions into the tank for however long it took for them to get a few decent powers, possibly even longer, leading to them being out of missions for an extremely long time (and also completely circumventing the st...

Re: Covering Fire as a lvl 1 Offensive AWC perk

Any overwatch based soldier should have a PCS chip that requires a 50% chance or better before they fire. Building an overwatch soldier without one of those chips is just asking for sadness. Missing the point. OP's concern is that if you get Covering Fire as your level one perk, you must train it -...

Re: Invasion mission crash

You can safely remove most mods from a save, yes. Obviously I wouldn't recommend trying to remove LW2 from a LW2 save file, but for cosmetics, voicepacks, and most UI changes it's not an issue.
