Re: Free Equipment Skills Unbalanced by Mobility Malus
It is frustrating that this does not show in the UI at the squad select stage. This is because the item is added when the tactical map is loaded. It also means it's free as far as infiltration time is concerned, but not for mobility. Does Full Kit also reduce mobility? I've only looked at the squad...

Re: Free Equipment Skills Unbalanced by Mobility Malus
It is frustrating that this does not show in the UI at the squad select stage. Also frustrating that I've just put an AWC flashbanger on a high mobility shinobi thinking it was free. How extreme can this go, say we have a low mobiltiy guy with all the extras from grenadier incl full kit plus smoker...

Wanna know what also works well? A SPARK in dense smoke. Nobody tanks twenty aliens that well with zero cover

Re: Psi Ops still suck?
Psi Op skills scale in damage with their psi amp, mind, but that thing is locked behind gatekeeper autopsy and third tier avatar. The Boz wrote:Soulfire needs to scale. It really, badly does. Maybe give it a damage bump at Soul Steal or something?

Re: Psi Ops still suck?
They are still very strong. Most (all?) of their attacks ignore a lot of combat alien upgrades like defense or dodge so they scale well late game. Yeah, you roll on dice on their powers and it's possible to get a little bit screwed, but we're dealing with crazy psychics here. Uhhh, but a lot of the...

Re: SPARKS worth it?
Just want to point out my own experience. 0% troop column, rookie difficulty (which still has no modifiers on enemy aim). Terrible, terrible activation, over twenty enemies. What do I do? Drop a dense smoke on my SPARK, start firing away. After three turns he hadn't taken any more damage than his sh...

I know for one that it doesn't. At minimum I can tell you that for the one mission I played without PI to check the mod I just told you about it still worked correctly.

Re: Kubikiri = Almost Repeater, right?
Kubikiri is weird because you have to crit a wounded enemy and have the crit not kill them for it to do anything. Really not a fan of random activation Rube Goldberg machines. It's there for andromedons o.O, blow up their cover then foooom kubikiri. Although there is a bug that kubikiri won't kill ...

Re: Sapper/needle grenades, heat/tandem, combat engineer/full kit
Perfect information is definitely not perfect. I use it mostly for the shot-bar showing hit-crit-dodge, thought i don't think it's accurate for LW2 either as i have grazed enemies with 100% hit and no dodge shown. And as others i've missed shots with trench gun. There is another mod, EU Aim Rolls, ...

Known bug, a class-based restriction will somehow cause the ability to be restricted from every class meaning it won't show up anywhere.

Re: EXO armor
Probably. -1 HP and Armor compared to Predator Armor, along with a little more expense, and you get a free Shredstorm Cannon to use once per mission. And if you bring a Technical, you can equip it with 2 extra Rockets or 2 extra Flamethrower uses (instead of the Shredstorm or whatever else you migh...

Re: Sapper/needle grenades, heat/tandem, combat engineer/full kit
I've been strongly disappointed by Sapper. Couldn't even blow up a cactus with my sapper grenadier. Needle grenades OTOH is quite handy in a squad doing materiel recovery missions, but not very useful in most extraction missions (you will destroy some loot from time to time). About the Combat Engin...

Origin of name?
So, this is perhaps a strange question but, why have you chosen the name Pavonis? Originally when I first heard the name I had a chuckle, because it's very close to the word for peacock in my language and I wondered "Do they know? Probably not, that's amusing". Then I finally saw your logo...

Re: Crazy timers
So many people have fallen in with this hyperbole about how many turns it takes to get to an objective. In a recent video by a LP streamer they said "I need 5 or 6 turns of dashing just to make it to the objective." Then, 3 turns later, they are a blue move away. 10 turns is absurd, even ...

Re: Dark Events
I don't remember where exactly but it was in those forums I saw it. Most of the tactical DEs are not in fact supposed to be countered, they're a granular growth to go along with the harder tiering up of enemies. They also doubt apply to all enemies! They are just a chance to apply to each enemy but ...

Re: Crazy timers
On my first escort mission I got 12 turn timer to get a VIP to a place that is at least 10 turns away at sprint. Is this intended? Why bother having soldiers on such mission at all in this case? Just deploy 1 soldier get max infiltration and hope that you will dodge/evade every enemy on your way to...

Re: Non-activated pods don't activate when seeing hacked bots, but still shoot at them.
How odd. Myself I had a different, more expected, interaction when I hacked a turret. It saw a lot of advent and they didn't activate, but when it was their turn then they activated on her, as expected.

Soldier spawning in strange location
Basic issue, went on a dumbass 0% troop column mission, took along 10 people. Nine spawned in the spawn zone, the tenth spawned in what was presumably the singular tile that would not immediately trigger everything around across the whole map. Detailed information: 1) Version: 1.0 2) Plaform: PC - S...

Re: Intel and "intel pacakage"
To note a rookie with 64 accuracy probably is great at something else like mobility, making them good as a Technical or maybe Assault, maybe even Shinobi since they don't tend to attack much. (or if you want to be really ballsy a holotarget/stealth build sharpshooter)

Re: Why no tutorial?
Tutorial leads to bugged campaigns after our changes. It was probably fixable, but we don't have infinite time or staffing, so we just turned it off. And, yes, while of value narratively, we didn't think it would have much utility as a teaching tool. I don't think the vanilla tutorial would have mu...

Re: Changes to the tactical layer
No, not quite like that. First you take the roll before applying crit, let's say you rolled into normal damage. After that you roll both crit and dodge. If you roll a crit promote the damage one step, if you roll a dodge demote it one step. So if you roll both a crit and a dodge they cancel. If you...

Re: Changes to the tactical layer
Sorry, I still can't follow the to-hit mechanism yet. There's this excel visualization somebody posted on subreddit. Could you confirm the calculations are correct? https://redd.it/5ou1y0 ex1) displayed to-hit is 80 , crit is 0. shouldn't it be just 70% to hit, 20% to graze, 10% to miss since we ha...
