6-9 what though? The missions are generated using Mission Schedules, but RNFs and Turrets aren't included in the Mission Schedules, so it's actually non-trivial to work out how many enemies can be on a mission. I agree with MacroNova. Tongue Grab was terrifying enough and still required immediate attention before it became an instant death sentence.

I love mine as well! He destroys cover nearly as well as a Sapper grenadier (i.e. not much at all) and I can BOMB away without regret.

I see that Guardian is being removed from the Sharpshooter list in the next patch. Is this because it's broken?

I rolled Flesche (8-day training) on my Gunner. I haven't decided if I'll try it, but at least it's interesting, and I'd take that all day any day over seeing Salvo and Biggest Booms on absolutely every soldier in my roster. Biggest Booms shows up constantly on Sharpshooters. Same for Volatile Mix. Clearly they're OP, though they seem absent from all the balance discussions. As vague idea- how about say 200 supplies, boosts kill experience by 100%, and unlocking at say Staff Sergeant rank? Agreed, it should boost all experience sources, but much less than +33% in this case, because it should not be a no brainer pick. Probably +15-20% XP for 150 supplies is a good balance in most games. The reason people are (allegedly) running them at 0% is because the infiltration timers are obscenely low and they're generally either at Heavy+ or Swarming levels.... Yep, I had the same issue in 1.2.
I fired a rocket that likely caught some of the Van. No damage was visible to the van, however, no one could subsequently hack the door.
