Re: Fire Grenade Tunning

Could you please advise an easy but reliable way to eliminate % chance for fire grenade as ini doesn't contain flame chance? XComLW_Overhaul.ini Line 400 & 401 FIREBOMB_FIRE_APPLY_CHANCE=75 FIREBOMB_2_FIRE_APPLY_CHANCE=85 It's starting to hurt me as official 75% is not 75% in practice. I'ts lik...

Re: The AWC in LWotC - a proposal

...You're going to have to explain that one. Again, I must insist that this only happens if you've a very very low creativity score or the creator was super bias. Ah, you make the assumption that creativity will always triumph if the player has some. Put differently, you're arguing from an exclusiv...

Re: Dissolving the hero classes into LW2: A proposal

I will be honest, you call it ridiculous and it probably is but... It feels like I can do the exact same thing with a stealth shinobi. Like, the only thing I need to do is take wider paths but otherwise I can do all the same things. Especially if I go full stealth. I'm not saying it isn't ridiculou...

Re: Dissolving the hero classes into LW2: A proposal

But sharpshooter doesn't have 1 tile visibility radius and can't kill and stay concealed at the same time as the reaper can. Of course he can't, and he doesn't have to either, he's 2 dashes away from the closest enemy  Once again Reaper is strong but calling it overpowered is ignoring that eve...

Re: Last on in July, wonder what happened

I find the transition from early-game to mid-game is when the challenge heats up: you're barely getting some of your bread & butters online when the aliens are starting to throw sneks, mecs and mutons at you. I guess it depends a lot on what you consider early or mid game. Anyway, even in reall...

Re: Last on in July, wonder what happened

WotC obviously still suffers from XCOM's (1&2) biggest shortcoming : the earl y game is quite challenging (and can be randomly extremely punishing) but once you get past the mid game and have good soldiers with solid gear and high level perks, it becomes extremely easy. LW2 manages to maintain s...

Re: Last on in July, wonder what happened

I have to say i haven't played 1.5 yet, just finished a Commander WotC campaign and will probably try Legend and/or some second waves options (there isn't a lot of those, but at least there's Beta Strike that could make the game pretty different - it doubles every HP for you and enemies) WotC brings...

Re: Dissolving the hero classes into LW2: A proposal

I see a number of issues with such proposal. The way the faction soldiers are equipped : Claymore is a secondary so if you want to give them to a specialist they will replace Gremlins. Templars gauntlets is a Primary so in order for Psi Troopers to use them they have to be able to use that weapon in...

Re: Future of shinobi?

Mhh, they may be a bit stronger than Vanilla classes but don't think they are stronger than LW2 classes. Banish is a perfect example : in LW2 a Sectopod or Gatekeeper is really not an issue me if i have Sharpshooter with Kubikiri and other players have presented other solutions that work well for th...

Re: Infiltration vs fatigue

I'm with Psieye here and think both systems should work together and balance/complement each other so that the less time you spend infiltrating a mission the more fatigue you'll accumulate . It would help prevent low infiltration abuse and force soldier rotation and could change infiltration into a ...

Re: Fire Grenade Tunning

Just adding a RNG to a OP item is not a wise balance choice, so if you are lucky you with an OP item and if you are not you get an useless one. While that's exactly my point of view, this subject have been discussed ad-nausea as soon as the change was announced so there's not much point discussing ...

Re: How would you want the Skirmisher adapted for LW2?

I personally think all faction soldiers (i will purposefully avoid the term "hero" because vanilla soldiers can become much more powerful Marvel style heroes than faction soldiers in WotC) should stay "mostly" untouched (they can't be left as is, at the very least they would need...

Re: Future of shinobi?

I never considered they should come untouched, just that they would probable work "mostly untouched" I would be for a removal of Remote Trigger. It's fun but gimmicky. Totally OP when the enemy gathers around a car but useless most of the time. I think i've used it once or twice in my camp...

Re: Liberated regions and intel

Intel - One core reason is to detect an invasion by Advent. You can see it coming from a mile away though, as Invasions require Advent to build up at least 8 strength in a neighboring region. In other words, don't worry putting anyone on Intel if no adjacent region has at least 8 str. Whether or no...

Re: Future of shinobi?

It looks like this is the place to discuss every class and not just Shinobi. I just finished a Commander WotC campaign so let's go. Adding the 3 hero classes to LW2 classes would bring the number of classes to 13 grand total (including Sparks and Psi Ops). Is it really too much? LW1 had 16 classes (...

I am chimming in to offer some counter-points, if you will. :) Agreed of course :) Thanks for pointing out the starting Flashbang, another non RNG-dependent solution to early game troubles, I forgot this one ;) However even after you flashbanged the enemy, you'll still have to kill them one way or ...

XCOM, LW and RNGesus

So i'm in the process of finishing my first WotC campaign (commander) which means i went back to Vanilla (sort of) XCOM2 after 2 full LW2 campaigns (and a few messed up starts). With LW2 still fresh in my mind i could somewhat compare the impact of RNGesus in a LW2 game compared to a WotC one (which...

Re: Suggestions to Reduce Inventory Management

there is a reason an iconic gun belongs to an iconic character, as for the player in a way they define each other, and give that in-battle special connection that xcom should have. That's exactly why i suggested keeping named guns. If you think a gun is iconic enough to belong to one specific chara...

Re: Suggestions to Reduce Inventory Management

Maybe a more simple solution would be to auto-strip "normal" guns but not named ones so once you think a soldier is important enough to have his reserved gun specially outfitted for him kept in reserve for when he will be deployed, you just name it and it won't be removed automatically. OT...

Re: My Long War of the Chosen ideas

What I think AP would be good for is integrating into the current AWC we have in LW2. That's basically what it does in WotC. There is no longer an AWC, it's once again a good old Infirmary that does just that ... heal your guys. The Training Center already implements some sort of LW like AWC perks ...

Re: My Long War of the Chosen ideas

I'm going to wait until i finish my current WotC commander campaign (provided i don't loose to the Avatar project, i managed to get down to 11h on the doom countdown already  ) to get a better view but from a somewhat midgame view here's my 2 cents. Fatigue System I agree with Psieye that bot...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

So i just started XCOM2 with WotC installed (using the regular launcher, i expect the alternate launcher will have to be updated) and you now have 2 buttons at the bottom, one to play XCOM2 and another to play WotC. Both display the same list of mods but some (most currently) are market with a warni...

Re: Is frustration intended for XCOM 2

Looks a bit out of topic but ok why not. I stopped watch most let's play because of the boredom of excessive number of stealth missions. If it's really that much balanced between 8 Squads and 1-3 Squads then quote me the let's play so I see it. What was the version of those LPs? In 1.2 3 men stealt...

Re: Is frustration intended for XCOM 2

There's certainly other ways to approach those missions. Psieye will brute-force them with 8 guys for instance. I did a lot of 0% missions in my 1.2 campaign and didn't want to repeat this in my 1.4 run so i went for stealth since they are quite different from 1.2 stealth. I might try again 8-man in...

Re: Coping with wildly unbalanced Haven Retals ahead of 1.5?

The problem of using rebels to scout is if there's a faceless. They aren't systematic in those missions, but I don't see how predict there will be faceless or not. The faceless you find during retaliations are the haven faceless (the same you would eliminate with a Rendezvous mission). One way to k...
