Remember that your haven troops are all rookies with assault rifles. So pick an advisor who helps in battle vs faceless and advent. Or SMGs, or shotguns. But yes. Of course, your complaint about the Secondary Weapon is valid. It's the same deal with blade specced Shinobis though, with SMGs just being useless. Better holding something than nothing, as it were. Not entirely true, the SMG gives the shinobi's a movement boost, which is definitely useful for them...

Yeah as Devon Said, Rangers are pretty awesome form the get-go. They are especially amazing as Haven advisors, they can outright assassinate the faceless with double barrel after someone else puts a little damage into it, which isn't hard with how easy it is to hit them. They also can do just a crap...

A squad that works together has a light version of the chemistry mod for EU/EW, the Officer gains some sort of bonuses for meshing with familiar troops... That's what I read anyways!

Uhhmmm... Hm, I dunno. I managed to pull all 10 out one time which was... No small feat. Managed to basically get a lucky evac zone in a building and overwatched enough DPS to take out dropping advent, so the mission was a success.

In a mission I actually extracted a girl with 2 turns on bleedout and when I got back to base she was dead. Weird indeed, cos there's even a Steam Achievement for doing precisely that, and I got it last week. So it's a feature even in vanilla. Hrrmmm... I was sure I got her out when she still had 1...

Whatever I do I ALWAYS have a field medic. For some reason the enemies always target my field medic first. It's kind of silly when my medic gets knocked unconscious when he's the one supposed to revive unconscious people =_=. I like the idea but find the space hard to justify and his offensive abil...

Just an update on my situation, it was somehow mod related I believe, since when I uninstalled all mods, deleted everything and just installed LW2 the problem disappeared from me. I suspect there might been some remnants of old mods causing issues, but I'm gradually adding mods again now to test fu...

The gunners blade actually does pretty decent damage and is SUPER reliable. If you are sick of melee oriented aliens killing your tank gunners the knife as a counter works out pretty well too. I've used it to for certain finish off low health aliens here and there. Its not arc thrower or sword fant...

The secondary is amazing if something melee'centric with lots of HP... *Cough* Chrys *Cough* gets up against you and you survive their first strike... Just blow their freaking brains out and smirk.
