Re: What is the difference between Enemy Activity and Enemy Readiness?

Thank you for the detailed response. So based on what you're saying, there is no difference in terms of enemy numbers between Resistance Extremely Light / Readiness Vulnerable and Resistance Extremely Light / Readiness Normal , since the only indicator that is directly relevant is the Enemy Activity...

Re: Reinforcement spam has completely ruined LW2 for me

I'm new to LW2 - I just started my first campaign on Veteran last Friday. It's currently May in my game, and thus far I haven't had any major issues with reinforcements - YET. Though, I've had to also realize that LW2 can't be played the way vanilla XCOM2 is played. Often you have to bring in underp...

Re: Faceless spies! Urgent help required.

Send soldiers as advisors. I only switched to engineer advisor after a region was liberated. So, for the early game, only soldiers as advisors (or Liaison in http://ufopaedia.org/index.php/Haven_Management_(LW2) ) Also you can prioritze your regions : liberated regions on full Supply for a few mont...

What is the difference between Enemy Activity and Enemy Readiness?

As far as I can tell they both add enemies to missions. Enemy activity is straightforward enough -- greater activity = more enemies on missions -- but in what way than is readiness different? If my observations are correct it seems like readiness is more likely to include turrets as part of its adde...

Re: Beginning continent (always South Africa?)

I started in North America, the Eastern US, to be specific. I was actually sort of hoping for South Africa for whatever reason. I now have a Haven in New Mexico as well, and am not quite one month into my campaign.

Re: What do the Haven's actually represent - more of a roleplaying question

Makes sense. So essentially we are dealing with the "heart" of the resistance in the area, while there are likely several other smaller havens that fly below the radar a bit more. Presumably there are operations happening there a well, but probably less intense than those of the primary ar...

What do the Haven's actually represent - more of a roleplaying question

I've been looking at Long War 2 for a bit as I worked to complete my vanilla legendary campaign. Since I wrapped that up last night, I started LW2 today, and a huge thanks to Pavonis/Long War Studios for what looks to be an amazing sequel!!! My question is perhaps silly, but I'd like to understand t...

Re: Long war killed Xcom 2 haha

I only played Long War once, but it was long and slow and methodical. It probably lasted as long as 3 or 4 standard run-throughs. And I won! ;)

I had 100 soldiers in my barracks, and each of them had some special significance to me by the end of the campaign. The experience was in all ways epic.

Re: UFO stats increased

My Long War game lasted nearly 2 years game time. I managed to shoot down 4 or 5 battleships and had plenty of Firestorms. A great way to get materials is to attack landed Transports. Those missions are incredibly difficult due to the number of aliens you'll have to face, but are well worth the risk...

That said, johnnylump, feel free to copy and paste any of the above into a reply to let us know, in the unlikely event that the issue is that you simply can't be bothered to type this out for yourself. :P I'm just trying to help here! I'm not johnnylump, but I'll say a few things that might address...

Re: Long war killed Xcom 2 haha

I have to say that Long War ruined me for XCOM 2. Don't get me wrong, I think the XCOM2 base game is generally superior to the XCOM 1 base game, but the campaign at present just feels like an appetizer. I'm missing the main course. It's too bad LWS isn't willing/able to give any meaningful hints as ...

Re: Announcement hype vs. reality

when we have something to announce, we'll announce it, but there just isn't anything to report right now. Yep, this is a wonderfully evasive response to the question posed by the OP. If I asked my son if he had completed his homework, and he responded by saying when he has something to report he'll...
