Here is the thing. I have a low will score and don't have a lot of free time, so whenever I make a big mistake (like a squad wipe) I rationalize that the campaign is over and all the time invested was wasted, and I impulsively alt+f4. Despite this being negative thinking, I do it anyway. I am not justifying it and I know ironman isn't meant to be played that way, but it happens.

However, XCOM 2 (mostly Long War 2) is one of the very few games I play because of the range of emotion I derive from playing LW2 and it is pretty fun. So is there a mod or an easy way to make every action prompt an autosave for every action on my turn and alien turn if applicable?

Maybe you can just use a backup general software to make backups of your savegames every 10 mins .
