Does an incendiary grenade count as an explosive (heavy ordnance) or as a support (rapid deployment) grenade in terms of perks? Same for gas.
Quite a basic question, but I actually didn't find out on ufopaedia.
Is incendiary/gas explosive or support grenade?
Re: Is incendiary/gas explosive or support grenade?
Heavy Ordnance gives you the extra incendiary.
Re: Is incendiary/gas explosive or support grenade?
AFAIK only smoke/flash are support. I believe this is mentioned in the description for Rapid Deployment, but I might be mistaken.

Support=non-damaging (flash, smoke, frost, . . . Ghost?)

Only reason to take Protector:
1) You want two frost grenades.
2) You are going to fill all your slots with smoke/flashbang.
#2 sounds crazy, a support grenadier should almost certainly at least have an incendiary or some other option to do damage. Problem with #1 is there is only 1 frost grenade, so you'd probably only build 1 grenadier this way. Anyways, protector needs a buff, Heavy Ordinance is better 99% of the time.

Yop, except the grenadier with frost bomb there is no reason to pick protector.stefan3iii wrote:Only reason to take Protector:

I guess a nice buff would be to add an extra smoke grenade. This way the smoke perk might be somewhat usefull as well - otherwise I don't think many people sacrifice a grenade slot to fill a smoke.

That would be a really good fix. Would make the choice between the two much more difficult.WanWhiteWolf wrote:Yop, except the grenadier with frost bomb there is no reason to pick protector.stefan3iii wrote:Only reason to take Protector:
