I'm disappointed in you PI for leaving out Van Doorn

The wiki says van dorn is a hero unit in vanilla xcom2, did long war disable hero units or something?

We didn't turn off heroes -- the way to get him in the game as a regular recruit is to make the hero unit by naming a soldier Peter Van Doorn, and saving that soldier to the character pool. His VO from LW is in a Workshop mod.

Oh, I didn't know about the Hero Units, and totally forgot they existed from XCOM1. I was just personally hoping there would be yet another special mission for Van Doorn and getting him in normal way

Speaking of trolling, I enjoyed the *SPOILERS* (I guess?) way you trolled the EXALT fanboys by dropping that eye in the load screens. Had a conversation (if you could call it that) with someone who was adamant that not only did LW2 bring EXALT back, but that you only put that in because it's CANON that EXALT is Advent. I laughed for quite a while and said "sure." Great job with that. I love when the natives are restless:0)

Elements of what would have been EXALT quite possibly exist within ADVENT. They're very different organizations though.

Firaxis put the EXALT bandana in the game, so PI aren't the only ones.
