This was very much in LW1. If you use Smoke and flashbangs it can help. But you saw it even in Vanilla XCOM and XCOM 2

I played a lot of LW1 and never encountered enemies having ridiculous hits like this, and it's happening often enough to not feel like RNG. It just feels like I'm getting shit on.

Brutal and impossible it happened pretty often. Hell, even on Classic Thin Men Snipers (or Thin Men in general) you could expect them NOT to miss and crit kill your guys. But I haven't really feel that LW2 on Vet that they were that bad on hit my guys. While I have seen them nail the crap out of my guys on a 9% shot, I've done the same to them.

You mean you never encountered a full Outsider pod?? With a Captain or commander in LW1?!?! Those @$$hats have the aim of the gods!! sniped me incredibly often out of full cover. Plus they gain a sickening amount of DR!

Pawnman, you forgot good defense, regeneration, close combat specialist to kill those assaults trying to get a sure shot and the ability to jump on roofs to flank your snipers

Yeah, outsiders in LW1 were so easy compared to the enemies in LW2

in my 4 LW2 campaigns (3 already lost) so far only Officers and disoriented Mutons were making crazy hits on soldiers in full cover consistently. the rest was giving more or less expected amount of misses

Ya gotta watch out for the Elite Officers or the freakin Sidewinder elites. I think they are the snipers in LW2
