Any way to increase chance of being caught by UFO

I let the chased by UFO DE complete even though I detected a mission for it. (wish I could have detected the one for venom rounds, I would have sacrificed a couple troops to prevent that one)

The reason for this is that I'm in December and I've still not had the avenger defence mission yet. I really enjoyed these in vanilla Xcom2 and want to have one come up. So, is there anything I can do to increase the chances of being caught? Even though my A team are on a 25 day infil for a Avatar facility (have one pip left on the doom clock, 3 have been filled in three weeks - so I have to do this - just wish I had more facility leads) so it will be my B team but they now have a reaper shinobi and top armour so am confident of fun, if not flawless, success.

I don't know of any way to increase or decrease the chance of it catching you.
