Fantastic or Horrible AWC Combos

Starting it off, it's my Assault Grenadier, Squaddie Matt Cook. Tell us what you have, Matt!

Offensive: HEAT Warheads, Volatile Mix, Bombardier
Defensive: Infighter, Low Profile, Phantom

And Aim 65 and Mobility 16. Some day he's going to Run And Gun someone but good. Just has to work on that weak 3hp. :)

Fantastic:

Gunner with Shadow Strike, Bring'Em on, and Hunter's Instincts. Holy mother of ambushes, batman (sat/iron curtain = wtf just happened to that 8 man pod with 10+ hp each enemy?)

Not so fantastic:

Most characters with grenadier perks (there comes a point early in the game where your non-grenadiers stop carrying frags), overwatch perks for classes clearly not meant for overwatching (shinobi, assault), not getting Low Profile ; (

Maybe fantastic? Technical Squaddie Tara Kelly.

Offensive: HEAT Warheads, Hail of Bullets, Bring 'Em On
Defensive: Flashbanger, Resilience, Combat Fitness

Mine you, the HEAT Warheads text says it applies to grenades, but a perk should be the same perk. So it should apply to rockets too. She is definitely going to get Biggest Booms and Tandem Warheads. Talk about your pod cracker. :)

Uncomfortably fantastic:

My first 2 Shinobis, Jack Uniform and Andy Peterson. Should be scout builds and go with Ghostwalker when they gets to LCpl. But...

Offensive: Damn Good Ground, Flush, Rupture
Defensive: Covering Fire, Field Medic, Combat Fitness

Offensive: Deadshot, Aggression, Run and Gun
Defensive: Flashbanger, Cool Under Pressure, Close Combat Specialist

Shooter Shinobis...?

And sometime in the future, Gunner Alexei "Reaper" Dobrynin (also Steady Hands and Hard Target) to some beastie. "You call that a knife? Here's a knife!"

Flashbanger+Rapid Deployment on any class is good times. Sure it locks you out of some decent defensive perk options, but just being able to toss out a flash for free is great on frontliners. One of my Shinobi troopers rolled it, so if shit hits the fan he can just pop a flash and bug out.

Grenadier with Run & Gun.
Implacable on literally any class.

(I've manually added the AWC fixes coming in 1.2 into my AWC config file)

Sprinter, Tradecraft, Implacable, Low Profile, on anyone. Evasive on any non-nest sniper. Untouchable on most.

I have a Shinobi I may try to make shooty:
1 - Shredder, Lethal, Suppression, and Rapid Reaction. (also Sprinter and Combatives)

Tactical Sense and/or Evasive on a Gunner. (Current playthrough has one with both.) (Similarly Hard Target + Tactical Sense)

Steady Hands on Ranger.

Aim + Deep Cover (Have this on Sniper-Sharpshooter so climb nest, use stock, have HELLA aim next turn. (she also has Steady Hands)

Ghostwalker + Covert + Phantom on Technical. Muahahaa.

Grenadier with
- Aggression (+5% crit per enemy in sight)
- Bring 'Em On (+1 crit damage per 2 enemies)
- Deadshot (+10% crit)

Currently in Training for Low Profile, with 2 more defensive perks to come.

Still needs to level up to Tech Sergeant for Biggest Booms (50% crit, +2 damage), and would be terribly disappointed if the crit perks didn't add to that. If they do, and I get to Volatile Mix (+1 AOE), it means one dead clown car per grenade. 8 enemies would give 100% crit for a total of +6 damage.

Hit & Run snapshot sharpshooter. With Rupture. I think also Mobility, not sure. Naturally, went AMF with him. <3

Sadly, that ONLY applies to grenades. Will petition to get it changed.

People say that doesn't work. Looking at the code for aggression, it should work. The crit perks (Well, at least aggression) don't verify what weapon is making the attack, just that there is a weapon. Deadshot also should work, it has no condition.

I have a Shinobi with both Center Mass and Lethal. Her SMG deals about as much damage an a rifle. I'm making her a shooter Shinobi with Serial for 1-men VIP assassinations.

i liked damage control on my gunner. also hand gun training on one of my Rangers with high aim was amazing.

It didn't wow me at first, but after some use a Ranger with shredder and hit'n'run is pretty badass.

Another has Lethal which is also rather nice.

Guardian on a gunner is great for overwatching.

I got a crit ranger with deadshot-shredder-serial and lone wolf-hard target-implaceable

I usually put her in the Icarus Armor and let her go to town.
