So I did invasion mission yesterday which ended in failure even though I killed all enemies and the psionic relay.
When I blew up the relay I got a messaged that all my rebels are gone and the region is lost.
I'm pretty sure I did not loose all 13 rebels on that mission. I did not check at the end of the mission, but I had 4 rebels dead by turn 4 and since the mission did not take more than 8 or 9 turns, I doubt that all the rebels were dead.
Is this a bug or is there some auto-loose scenario where the region is lost after a certain number of invasions?
This was my first liberated region (7 regions contacted and 2 liberated before this mission) and advent tried to take it back about 4 times.
can't load a save as I'm playing ironman. difficulty veteran.
Edit: Nevermind. Just checked bugfixes for patch 1.3 which explains the above problem:
Fix bug causing Invasion missions to sometimes be considered a failure if the spike is destroyed after all aliens are defeated. 2160
